  1. It is not the power strip, I tried 2 different ones and I tried plugging the pc in my first floor to eliminate bad wiring in the walls even though they are completely fine and fresh. The whining is coming from my GPU, PSU is completely silent. also noticed that there is a tiny ripple on my 5v rail - it keeps changing from 5 to 5.1, is it normal that it constantly changes? and my 12v is stuck at 12.1. I am ordering a new RM850x tomorrow anyways.
  2. That sound bothers me quite a lot, Probably will buy a new PSU and rma this one to get a fresh one to stick it into different pc. but the difference from you, is that my GPU whines and my PSU is completely silent.
  3. So I had this computer for a little over a year and a half now and since last month my GPU (Asus GTX 1070 DUAL OC from the factory) developed this sound when the PSU outputs more than 200 Watts more or less. I tried another GPU which is less powerful (an old ASUS 960 4GB which gets fed by a 6 pin connector instead of 8) the sound was less harsh but was there, I dont have another PSU to test, Should I be worried or is it just normal coil whine? Must note that everything works fine, I havent noticed any performance dips in GPU or any other component. Video: [ame] [/ame]
  4. Also a question about my H100i V2 Extreme, My coolant temp is around 25 - 26 when computer is idle (regular web browsing and stream / video viewing) and ive seen it rise up to 29 on really intensive CPU usage for a good 20 - 30 minutes when I render stuff, are those normal coolant temps considering the fact I live in quite a warm place?
  5. The buzzing on the GPU started a little bit more than a month ago, Ive had this GPU for a year and a half (I built this computer from 0), I pray to god that the smell that it emits is excess dust built up, Ill take it out and clean it even more properly but wont take it apart as I still have a year and a half of warranty left. Ill even go further and buy a new corsair PSU as this one seems to drop below 87% efficiency as stated (gold + RM750i). The smell that comes out is the same smell you would smell from an electrical applicant that heats up under use, whether it be a hair dryer or some kind of mixer or from my subject of work, a Voltage amplifier.
  6. Upon further investigation I did not spot any leaks without taking the radiator out and as I said coolant temps are fine and everything else is fine. One thing I noticed is that this smell might be emitting from the GPU when its under load, I stuck my nose into an opening between the plastic and PCB and noticed the smell there, yet again I find it very strange that this smell emits through radiator only, I know this is mot a GPU forum but is that smell okay? It smells like kind of hot smell and to be mentioned, My GPU started buzzing / coil whining under load ( temps are fine and performance is fine as well.)
  7. Update: I went through most of the Molex connectors and didnt see anything wrong or smell
  8. I am 99% sure its the Radiator because the smell comes only from the radiator that pushes out air on the top of my case but not in any of the other fans that push out air. I do have to note that recently my GPU started buzzing (coil whine) when the it hits certain power consumption, I smelled the back of my PSU and everything else and it wouldnt come from there.
  9. Also to note, Pump stays on the same RPM all the time (set to quiet mode), pump is set to 100% in the BIOS. Could it be really the pump dying or it could be something like dust stuck somewhere in the radiator or the fan bearings emitting the smell? cause the only thing that changes is the RPM of the fans on top of the CPU and coolant temperature.
  10. as title says, radiator emits strange burning like warm smell. a month or so ago I noticed my pump emits buzzing noise while the PC is booting up, so I re seated it and the noise is still there, I said w/e. Now I started to notice a strange burning like smell emitting from the radiator while the CPU is under usage, I am running an i7 - 8700k @ 4.7 Ghz, Temps are completely fine, Idle 29 - 31 degrees and under usage 50 - 55 (completely normal for my warm country). Should I worry about it? Should I turn it into the shop? (I work from home and returning the AIO will make me unable to work for around a week and a half). the smell is somewhere between warm smell that comes from a operating electrical component to almost burn smell. (the AIO is a year and a half old)
  11. So I started getting electrical buzz coming from my GPU / GPU Motherboard socket area once GPU hits certain clock speed and PSU hits 200 Watt, Tried a different GPU and same result - GPU / GPU Socket area has coil whine. (to be noted that I had this GPU Mobo PSU combo since I bought the PC around April 2018 - Asus GTX 1070 DUAL OC + Asus prime Z370-A + Corsair RM750i Gold + and I have never experienced anything like those sounds to like last week). Since that I started monitoring my PSU through iCUE and noticed that my PSU Efficiency dips under 87% to sometimes even 60% at even Idle state of PC, 87% is the minimal amount of the PSU (80+ Gold), Could this point to a faulty PSU? I dont have experience with PSUs at all.
  12. It is there even on Quiet 80% CPU_FAN, I dont mind the noise as my radiator fans are running at a custom curve and they are already noisy, I am just concerned about the electrical unstable buzzing that it emits once I fire up a game, no real performance issues with it, just electrical noise.
  13. So I was wondering, I was running my H100i V2 Extreme pump on the default CPU_FAN setting and it was set to a climbing curve obviously, and lately the pump been making buzzing noises. Is it possible for that default curve on the CPU_FAN has damaged the pump? To be noted pump still runs fine 1850 - 1950 RPM on the quiet setting in iCUE and temps seem to be fine with the usual tiny spikes.
  14. http:// https://imgur.com/gallery/a3LH6RA What is this black stuff around my CPU? Could it be the thermal paste and it damaged my motherboard so its making this noise now due to an electric failure?
  15. Okay so after more checks and GPU check at the shop, I found out where the sound is coming from - the CPU Socket / Pump, what could it be essentially? I need this computer for work and giving it away for a week and a half is not really an option for me, could it be the pump itself or some electrical buzz coming from CPU Socket / CPU?
  16. Well the thing is I had this GPU for a little above 1.5 years and it never did that up till last Friday, I am very sensitive to such things and I notice them right away. Thats why I am suspecting the GPU to be on its way out of this world but as you said, Ill keep exceptions in check, Thanks for the replies.
  17. I kept trying to run CPU-Z Stress test but not bench, buzzing goes away, I still thought it would be the pump cause the noise was really coming from it but the more I started listening to the GPU, I realized it is coming from there. I do hear ticks and clicks while the GPU is under stress and it seems to be coming from the GPU as well, I guess I will return it to the store tomorrow as it is still under warranty. About the electrical noise, I come from electronics engineering and thats why I got worried, sounds like this usually come from microchips that are very very unstable, I tried lowering the OC on my CPU and disabling it all in all, still the buzzing would come only when GPU would hit about 50% usage in GPU heavy games, guess its the GPU chips or capacitors giving up, although funnily enough I have not noticed a single performance drop. Hopefully I will get a replacement as I bought it from a retailer in my country that usually replaces the GPUs all in all.
  18. First of all, thank you for the detailed answer,I am very inexperienced with Corsair AIOs. As for the coil whine, I thought about it but the sound is coming from the pump itself,I guess I will try re seating the GPU tomorrow. and as for the PWM,I do have iCUE installed and I did have the CPU_FAN set to 100% up until today, Ill put it back to 100%.
  19. H100i V2 Extreme. Had this AIO for a year and a half now more or less. Today I noticed a low humming / buzzing sound coming from possibly the pump (Cant tell if its the pump or some electrical buzzing coming from the CPU.) this buzzing only appears while I am tabbed into a game like Forza Horizon 4 or Battlefield V but as soon as I alt tab or close the game the buzzing stops instantly, when I try and stress test the CPU, buzzing doesnt not happen at all. CPU_FAN set to fixed 80% PWM, Was happening on fixed 100% PWM as well. 8700k set to stable 4.7 1.25 OC and dropping frequency and voltage did not help so I believe it is coming from the pump. Worth mentioning that I did not notice any overheating or any downclocks on the CPU. Also tried to set the case on the side and let the pump run for a good 30 minutes and it didnt help. worth to note that the buzzing comes in seems to be fixed cycles, thought it could be PWM causing it but it is just constant on DC. You can hear it in the video. [ame] [/ame] P.S. - I know its dusty, Cleaned it a week ago, hate the dust in my country.
