  1. Is there a revised hardware version of the keyboard? I'd actually consider buying another one if I knew Corsair fixed the aluminum tabs that hold the plastic scissor mechanism. Is there a firmware update that allows for Fn-Lock in Bluetooth mode without iCue software running in the background wasting resources?
  2. Another key failure, I wish I had a macro lens to photograph this issue. This time it's the left arrow key, same failure, the aluminum tabs that hold the upper part of the white plastic mechanism are deformed, and the mechanism slides right out of them.
  3. After looking carefully at the scissor mechanism I could see the keycap is fine and the white plastic mechanism is fine but the aluminum tabs that hold down the white plastic are deformed. This is a common issue with scissor switches where the aluminum tabs are just engineered to be too flimsy. Shoddy engineering in what is supposed to be a premium keyboard.
  4. I've had the Corsair K83 since September 2019, it's been starting to fall apart since March 2020. The scissor mechanism is worn out on keys I hardly ever use - the up and down arrow keys, despite being pressed far less than the alphabet keys, are popping out of the scissor mechanism, which seems to be slipping out of the little metal tabs that hold it in place. At first it was just the down-arrow key, now it's the down and up arrows, they're both half-height keys so it seems their design was flawed to begin with. I've never taken the keyboard apart or removed the caps or applied any force to the keys other than normal everyday use of typing on the keyboard. Together with the lack of proper firmware that lets F-lock lock the function keys as function keys (as opposed to media keys) in Bluetooth mode, it feels like a beta product that shipped before being properly tested.
  5. The Logitech K830 is discontinued. Same as the DiNovo Edge which was great. So great they stopped making it because it was built to last, so if you own it you won't be needing new keyboards every few years.
  6. I like this keyboard a lot because of the premium build, clicky keys, and the great touchpad - despite most reviews saying it doesn't work well, I found that it works flawlessly. The battery is a huge issue, first because it supposedly degrades completely in three years, and second because the charge capacity is terrible at 40 hours of usage. The connector being micro USB instead of USB C is a bad engineering decision, too. The keyboard configuration requires iCue, which is a waste of time and resources, everything the keyboard does should be handled internally by the keyboard. For example the F-Lock button doesn't actually lock the function keys as function keys, they still default to media keys with F-Lock on when using Bluetooth. You have to install iCue and keep the iCue service open in the background just for the keyboard to have all of its functionality available, a very anti-user move. Being this is the only keyboard on the market that (1) is rechargeable, (2) connects by Bluetooth, and (3) has a touchpad, it was the only product that met my requirements, and I'm glad the build quality and Bluetooth connectivity is very good, but I hope Corsair releases an upgraded version with a better battery, USB C, and proper Bluetooth driver support, or better yet have all the customization be done internally in the keyboard so I don't have to install 1GB of drivers just to get F-Lock to work.
  7. Updated to firmware version 3.24, F-keys still work as media keys regardless of F-Lock state in Bluetooth mode.
  8. I've noticed in the online documentation that holding down for two seconds Fn+1, Fn+2, Fn+3, Fn+4, Fn-[minus], or Fn-[plus] changes the behavior of the function keys and other behaviors. For example Fn+1 is "Windows mode" and Fn+[plus] is "Mac mode". Maybe add Fn+9 as "function mode" where the function keys default to F1-F12.
  9. Hi, I purchased a Corsair K83 keyboard and the build quality is excellent, but the usability is lessened because the function keys, F1 through F12, default to media keys when the keyboard uses Bluetooth connectivity, even when FnLock is active. Please make the function keys default to F1-F12 in Bluetooth mode, or at the very least make FnLock toggle between media functions and regular F1-F12 functions. For example using Alt-F4 to close an application when the keyboard uses Bluetooth connectivity requires pressing Alt-Fn-F4, regardless of whether FnLock is active or not. Other useful updates: - making the touchpad a true Precision Touchpad by making the two-finger scrolling work like true two-finger scrolling and not like mouse-wheel scrolling (treat scrolling not as a gesture but as actual motion along the touchpad) - making the joystick have a gradient of sensitivities. Right now it goes from zero to half-speed to full-speed without any intermediate levels. But most importantly, make the function keys default to F1-F12.
