  1. was going to overclock my Chip today when I ran into some strange issues I've never seen before(because I probably never looked), this is my first liquid cooled build and I'm suspicious that something may be incorrect here: I have an I9-9900k with a corsair brand H100I platniumSE with everything powered through ICUE. first my temp findings: According to core temp, idle on my desktop my cores are ~30-35c gaming in modernwarfare i usually hit 65-70c I installed prime 95 and ran the small fft torture test, and the second I clicked the button my Core temps spiked to 90c Icue monitors my coolant temperature which on idle is sitting at 30 c but what really concerned me was that, after sitting with Prime 95 running for a full minute I did not register any increase in coolant temp. I am suspicious that my liquid cooler is not cooling as it should be. I know the coolant is a liquid and liquids take a while to heat up. but below is an image I took after 1 minute of prime95 stress testing: as you can see the cpu is cooking at nearly 100c and my coolant isnt even elevated from baseline EDIT apparently my url to the img got eaten, here is a new one https://gyazo.com/e8ea0f6f8c03ff786df1e736324324c7
  2. so I have tried enabling spatial sound on my virtuoso SE headphones but was unsuccessful. the standard go to is to rightclick on the sound icon and enable windows sonic. however windows sonic is disabled and greyed out for me. I went into my sound control panel and confirmed that my headset is listed as my defualt audio device, I opened the properties tab and their is an option for spatial sound, in the drop down the only option is "off" I also made sure mono sound was disabled in the sound control panel. I tried theses steps with both stereo and surround 7.1 enabled from ICUE
  3. quick question about the LED fans with the H100i RGB PLATINUM SE. The insturctions indicated that the fanLED's should be plugged into the pump controller, and they work fine and are pretty, but I was wondering if I can plug them into my lightning node pro with my other fans? yes they are the same fan model as all the others. I just wasnt sure if they needed to be controlled special from the cpu cooler or not
  4. yup further inspection seems to confirm what I suspected. fans must all be the same model to be run by the same controller board. huh. that makes it kind of annoying to coordinate between all the parts. Let me revise my build some more
  5. so it appears I Need to purchase a fanhub, to connect to the lightning node Pro, I did read on there that you where only allowed to use one type of fan per fanhub, It specified a difference between requiring All SP or All HD: what does this mean? My case has 3x LL120 RGB Fans I have a fourth Corsair LL Series CO-9050071-WW LL120 RGB for the rear of the case and my CPU liquid cooler is listed as having : 2x 120mm ML PRO Series I was concerned these might not be compatible since they are different models.
  6. Greetings all, its that time again, Time to rebuild my PC I was doing my research and pretty much fell in love with Corsair's RGB support through ICUE. I have put together a decent outline of parts that I think will make the final cut if my budget permits it. I have done several PC builds in the past, but never one with RGB support. so I wast entirely sure if I had everything I needed. or if I needed to purchase separately one of those RGB controller panels, I've seen. I must admit I was disappointed when I learned that Corsair doesn't manufacture motherboards. I was very saddend when I learned that ICUE wouldn't control my mobo lighting. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6q7VxG Also Its been a while since i've done a total rebuild, so I welcome any comments/questions/concerns/tips about the parts I have chosen
