Corsair AIO lasts 1 year before die. If you are lucky.
Whisky Lima replied to sblantipodi's topic in Cooling
Most companies use the same manufacturers to make their coolers for them, Corsair is no exception. With that in mind, although you have had a bad run of look with your cooler, the hardware is the same with most other brands too so it doesn't much matter who you choose, as the hardware has most likely been made by the same 2 or 3 main manufacturers. That said, with the warranty Corsair offer, the customer service and the software options with the newer coolers, I personally wouldn't ever go anywhere else. -
The clever ladies and gents at Corsair are always looking for ways to improve the software and it is always evolving so they will undoubtedly be working on ways to improve the performance of the software. Hopefully we can at least get your system running a little better with iCue in the mean time so give me a shout if you decide to upgrade to the latest version.
-
When you uninstall the current version of iCue you have installed, it will give you the option to remove all user data. If you check this box it will delete all your profiles and any settings for iCue. It's a pain in the butt if you have a lot of profiles but it's the best way to remove iCue in preparation for a new version if you are experiencing problems. If you want to you can also navigate to the AppData/Roaming/Corsair/ folder and make a copy of the CUE folder in there. This will backup all your profiles and settings in case you want them back. If you need more in depth explanation of how to back up iCue let me know.

Ok if you decide to update again there are a few things we can try to isolate what is causing the problem. I will subscribe to this thread and keep an eye out for a response.

That is very interesting, so the mouse itself is not controlled by iCue. did you notice if you were seeing CPU spike when the stuttering was occurring?
-
Which mouse do you have?

Fancy hardware worthless without working software.

Hey buddy, what's the problem you are having with the software, perhaps it can be solved? -

Love those suggestions. I think you might be right about including a few pre made profiles! -

Do any of you guys have any suggestions on other software you think might compete with iCue? If so why? -
Your Thoughts on iCue Vs Other Software?

Does anyone use any other RGB software? How do you guys rate iCue compared to that? -
Hey guys, it's been a while since I have started a new thread, I just wanted to ask you guys what your thoughts are on iCue? What do you think is good about it and what could be better? How do you guys think it compares to other software like it? I personally don't have a great deal of experience with other RGB applications but it would be interesting to know what you all think about it? I will kick this off: Likes: Hands down the most comprehensive software for RGB lighting. Plenty of features and all in one software application. Having the ability to create multiple profiles and have them linked to specific software applications so it changes automatically depending on the game I am playing. Control over Macros, EQ presets, fan curves and pump speeds as well as Lighting means everything I need to setup a new game or application with my keyboard, mouse and lighting is all in one place. Dislikes: I wish it were compatible with other hardware so I could control ASUS and MSI LEDs from iCue too. It can be difficult to find what your looking for and for a beginner can be very daunting with the huge number of features. High learning curve. Perhaps if there is something that everyone likes or dislikes, the girls and boys at Corsair will know which direction they ought to be taking iCue for the future. Cheers all!

Hey fellas, just thought I would jump in here. I have the 500D SE which I received just before Christmas and I can confirm they no longer have the slots that you guys are talking about. I don't know exactly when this changed but i'm sure that any case you buy now wont have the slots unless they have had them sitting on a shelf for a long time.

For your usage this should be OK as you are not using the monitoring features, but it should be noted that anyone with a corsair cooler should not disable the corsair.service as it is responsible for monitoring the CPU temperature and relaying that information to the cooler. If a user has a Corsair cooler, disabling this service will result in improper operation and could lead to the CPU overheating while under load. Just out of interest which games were you experiencing crashes in?

K65 - Can't save static lighting profile to hardware memory
Whisky Lima replied to Aemstel's topic in iCUE Software
I have just tested this myself with the M65 Pro and have found the same issue, I have logged the problem with the Dev team and will get back to you if there is a solution. Thanks for pointing it out! -
Yes you are right this is not a fix, unfortunately I don't have the ability to fix the issue as I don't work for Corsair and I am not a programmer. I just thought those of you who were having this issue and wanted to find a way to make it stop might find this useful. I apologise if the workaround I spent time finding and then shared for free is not good enough for you but like I said, the good guys and girls at Corsair are working hard on the issue. Until then, this is the best I can personally come up with.

Yes hoping for a fix for the missing performance tabs soon, most of the time I forget they are not there but it will be nice to have those back again. As Zotty mentioned, a quick restart of iCue fixes that for now but the clever boys and girls behind the scenes are working on a fix :)
-
Those of you still having issues can try this: Go to Windows Settings > System > Power & Sleep Look for the "Additional Power Settings" This will bring up a second window. In here click on, "Choose what the power button does" Now select "Change settings that are currently unavailable" Now you will see the options at the bottom come to life. You will need to turn off Fast Start-up by un-checking the box. Click on "Save Changes" at the bottom to finish. This will fix the problem when you turn on the computer, but wont stop it from happening when you resume from sleep. Please also be aware if you have a mechanical hard drive as your boot device this will make your computer boot much slower but for those with an SSD, you shouldn't notice much difference. The Devs are aware and are working very hard to fix this problem but in the mean time this should help a little.

I have found a solution that worked for me and a few others. Please read fully before you begin. You will need to backup your profiles before you begin and this will reset everything in iCue as if it were the first time you used it so keep that in mind. First uninstall iCue and tell it to remove all user settings during the uninstall process. Next you will need to remove any left over folders as follows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Corsair" "C:\ProgramData\Corsair" "C:\Users\Whisky Lima\AppData\Roaming\Corsair" (note that your user data will not be under Whisky Lima and some of your folder locations may differ from mine) I don't know if this is a necessary step but I then ran CCleaner to clean up the registry only. You might need to run the registry cleaner a few times to get everything and make sure you backup your registry before your begin and with each time you run the cleaner. Once complete restart your computer and reinstall iCue. Then you can get to work, setting everything up again and import any profiles you saved. Please note that CCleaner can cause problems if it is not used correctly and I take no responsibility if anything goes wrong. Feel free to try this without the ccleaner step if you are not sure.

This might be a stupid question but are you holding the button in when you mute the mic? A single press should mute / un-mute the mic however you can use the same button to disable and enable the side-tone by holding the button down.
-
I have only experienced this with the MM800 mouse mat but I have seen this before with precious versions of CUE where the mystic lighting takes control even if you don't want it to. In the end I ditched the software in favour of the more advanced offering Corsair has. There was a mention of the corsair software working alongside MSI motherboards during the video corsair posted a while ago but I suppose we will just have to wait and see what happens there.

Hey just out of interest, are all of your non responsive devices connected through the commander pro? If so, is there anything connected to it that does work with iCue?
-
if you show a quick sketch of your layout I might be able to help
-
Very good, looks like you guys are on top of it!

Just a quick suggestion for the graphic for the fans. It would be nice if the alignment of the LEDs on the graphic in iCue was oriented the same way as the fans in real life. So for example, if you hold a fan in front of you, there are two LEDs next to each other that I would say are the top of the fan but in iCue, only 1 LED is represented as the top. if you rotate the image by 45 degrees it's perfect. I have included an image below with the current iCue image on the left and what I think it should look like to better represent the actual fans on the right.
