  1. Not even sure if my Current Void headset is supported in iCue 4 or not, but I'm cutting my losses while I can. I dropped my Corsair Commander Pro in exchange for a AqauComputer OCTO. Now I can see my sensors in AIDA and not have to alt-tab to bloatCue. Reformatted PC to remove all traces of Corsair iCue and now run OpenRGB to control RGB on my MM800 and ST100 without issue. Set a profile before I reformatted and saved it to my K95 and Nightsword, so here is hoping I never have to reinstall iCue. Bonus is my CPU idles properly without odd spikes. Sad end to almost 20 year love affair. I'll still be a fanboy, but not a blind one. Not spending another cent on Corsair, only used or just completely avoiding. Get out while you can. Having your cooling system tied to unreliable software is a loaded gun. You've been warned.
  2. Let's me control my Commander Pro without having to do any of the following: Exit iCue fully because for some odd reason closing iCue doesn't stop it from keeping your GPU rendering it's UI at 199 FPS for some odd reason. Let's me actually control my fans, not having to unplug and replug some just to get them to show again. Doesn't keep waking my CPU up from low states because "I'm Corsair and I can." At the point where recommending Corsair is a headache because I have to troubleshoot their garbage just because at one point I really loved their RAM. Seriously, this company just went public and they can't even fix their software? I'm about to just call it quits and jump ship.
  3. Really is frustrating to dump thousands of dollars into a Corsair setup and then a "fix" for a problem that's been plaguing tons of users introduces an issue that basically destroys your whole ****ing setup. I'm literally at my ropes end with Corsair and their **** hardware/software, and clearly Customer Service. Should have learned my lesson with my 4 RMA'd Glaives with my last RMA being a refurb that basically broke again but "too bad Railven, you're out of warranty, suck it." **** this garbage, this company, and this ecosystem.
  4. This is why I'm asking if the lid has any metals. Most D5 pumps I've come across can be positioned horizontally, and the break down I saw for this pump by PowerTechUp shows a basic D5 pump setup. As long as the motor is submerged it should have no issue (but that would mean the res being so full water will touch the lid.) The only reason I'd see for them stating not to position horizontally is there is possibly something in the lid that may cause issues. The NeoChanger I used before stated in it's manual it can be used horizontally, and that the lid was anodized aluminum but it did nothing to prevent the corrosion we saw, so I rather not risk it. Well I got the pump today, and looking closely I see screw holes with possible screws being exposed to the fluid. So I'll probably just return it. Guess I'll just look for something that is basic.
  5. Hello, I just had a bad experience with the Enermax NeoChanger 300ml res/pump combo. I picked one up for the wife's first water build and I failed to realize the lid was aluminum. Since I had to fit the pump horizontally, the lid came in contact with the fluid which led to some nice corrosion. Thinking of picking up the Corsair XD5 but am having a hard time finding info on what metals are used. The pictures make the pump look it's made out of plastic with some metallic decorations, but I'm only concerned with the portions that will touch the fluid. Thanks for any info on this.
  6. As a Corsair fan, with a Corsair theme, I went with a Corsair SP120 running at low (about 800 RPMs). Does a great job keeping the radiator cool, temps aren't an issue, and noise is definitely not an issue.
  7. I'm about ready to buy a few more Corsair products (Strafe looks sexy), thankfully I dodged this bullet (the N980). Like you I got tired of waiting and picked up the EVGA Hybrid kit when it was on sale for $90 with $20 rebate. I got my $20 rebate and a second shroud (EVGA Hybrid, much nicer than the stock shroud). Replaced the stock fan, running it through my front panel control. My rig is nice and quiet, GPU temp never breaks 45C, and I got a +275 core/mem overclock with 106% powerlimit. I periodically check this thread to see if they rolled out a fix. Sad to see this product is going to ruin a lot of cred Corsair built up.
  8. The temps for the "success" installs are still a tad too high for my linking/expectations. For example here is my setup using the EVGA Hybrid Kit (which is silent, minus the stock fan being a tad too loud but I've yet to swap it): http://i.imgur.com/2JQ7ZH2.png http://i.imgur.com/FjFC9vf.png That was FireStrike Extreme with +300 on core and mem on a ref Zotac 980 Ti ASIC score something like 72%. There is no way a 60C load score is satisfactory. I was getting that with a custom fan curve on the ref cooler. Granted a little louder. Hopefully Corsair figures it out because I feel there is way more potential in the product/setup of an AIO cooler than current N980 users sans custom mods are experiencing.
  9. Oh you are correct, I had the temps backwards. Idle 23C, Ambiet 21C (keep it cool in the room, get my heat from the PC :D). Reading Dustin's recent post makes me think it's going to get recalled. If what Mattlach said is correct about it going through 28 revisions before releasing, then the product was probably still not ready for release. Woof. Hopefully the fix is faster than the initial release.
  10. Wow, I don't think I would have been satisfied with those temps especially if you bought everything new (ie you weren't just reusing an unused AIO lying around.) I have an H50 Version1 and H60 that don't work with the Kraken G10, so my goal was to use either with the HG10 N980 once it came out. Reading the results of some of the people that did get it to work don't give me much confidence that the product is working properly. I cracked and got the EVGA Hybrid Kit when it went on sale (timing just literally 1 week before Amazon started shipping HG10's haha). Zotac Ref, ASIC was something like 72-73% Clocks 1494mhz Mem 2810mhz Ambient: 23C Idle: 21C Load (3DMark loop, Firestrike Extreme): 46C. And I feel the radiator on the EVGA kit is rather dinky (I was startled how light it was.)
  11. So I had to make an account. I was eagerly awaiting for the H10 N980 to launch and then I finally snapped when the EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid kit went on sale and had $20 rebate. I had a spare Corsair H60 lying around that I planned on using with it (I also have a Kraken G10 and Corsair H50 V1 that isn't compatible with it). And I didn't want to risk damaging my car getting the Kraken G10 to work with the H60. I just read through the other thread and I'm so glad I gave into my moment of weakness while the Hybrid was still in stock. 20 minute install, am running my GTX 980 Ti @ +250 Core/+250 Mem stock volts idle temps 21c and load temps 45C. Corsair really dropped the ball on this product. If I had known it was going to be this bad (the wait for launch and then the hardships for users) I'd have not even bothered and just got the Hybrid kit back when I got my 980 Ti. I got a lot of Corsair products in my household, this isn't enough to prevent me from swearing them off, but it just sucks how this product rolled out. Good luck to you guys trying to make it work properly.
