  1. eva2000, Great work! I like the pictures that show it too. It's hard to find a total liquid cooling solution right out of the box with all of the features the HydroCool has these days. To purchase something like it would cost far more than what it was a few years back. Yes, if you take a few measurements, anyone could develop hold-down hardware for a cold-plate. A local run to the hardware store or on-line is an easy thing to do. Peace! Stev
  2. Eva2000, Nice deal with the Intel Conroe Core Duo E6600 and the temps. That shows some promise. :) Stev

KaptCrunch, Sorry, I don't understand your English on this one. :sigh!: Stev

    Bosch pump lifespan

KaptCrunch, You 100% right on this point. Bosch makes a similar pump (PCA) with a metal housing to resist the road salt. I would love to use this in the HC, but the pump draws a BIG 4 AMPS ! This would pack a powerful punch for cooling in the HC. This pump is also very popular to find. HOWEVER -- this pump has a brush type motor. It will only have a 1/3 or at best a 1/2 life compared to the Bosch PAD pump used in the HC. Stev

    Bosch pump lifespan

YCH, Yes, that is really fishy. Even more so is the pump reference number they give PA66-GF30. Yes, that is marked on the pump. BUT that is the plastic material code for Polyamide Glass Filled 30%!   Way too funny. Seriously, I have found the culprit web site that the reviewers reference to stating the 10,000 hours: http://www.metricmind.com/water.htm The Bosch Pump used in the HC is the 12V PAD pump. Model PAD-0-392-023-000 You can find all the great specs for this pump here: http://iis4-0.web.legend.net.uk/preview/bosch/elektromotoren/aggregate/wasserumwaelzpumpen/0392023000/index.htm They moved the link since the last time I looked for everyone who bookmarked the old page. :sigh!: The best in German engineering as you can see. If the pump only ran up to 10,000 hours, many Mercedes owners would have damaged engines. Like wise for some of the VW owners too. Forget the 3yr/36,000 mile warrenty. You'll need to change the pump at least three times! So, this pump must last much longer than a mere 10,000 hours of running. Stev

YCH, Also note, if you drive 60mph for 80,000 miles, then the time of the pump would be 80,000 hours. The Bosch pump would also see harsh heat extremes and harsh cold extremes with the coolant usually scumming up in that distance and time frame. However, the Bosch pump isn't mounted on an engine, it's in your HydroCool. Away from a harsh enviroment with no scum in the coolant. Relax. The pump should outlast any fish or fountain pump out there. Stev

    Bosch pump lifespan

YCH, I'm not aware of a spec calling out 10,000 hours of run life with the Bosch pump. Can you please list where you found this info? :sigh!: Stev
