Three Months Later and Still no Cooling Nodes?

I can't believe how bad of a name Link has managed to get for itself.

I just want to add another pair of fans to my build, but lo and behold three months after the last thread was closed and we still can't buy any cooling nodes, and I don't believe we have had any updates regarding when the famed v2 cooling node is supposed to come out.

I urge anyone considering a Link system to reconsider until the future of the platform is more clear. As it stands it's a fan controller that won't let you control more than five fans, because Corsair no longer sells the part to let you control fans. Think about that. Your only option is to purchase an entire system to get the stupid cooling node.

Rather than hang on to this dead system, hoping things will get better, I think I'm just gonna get myself an aquaero. Sure it's more expensive, but the makers of the aquaero actually seem to care a bit more about their product, posting detailed information and actually answering questions about the product.

Thanks to RamGuy and all the Corsair support people on here who try to give us answers, I know this isn't your fault. It's a shame to see what Link could have been and what a nightmare it's turned out to be.

you could actually buy 3 complete link systems for the price of the aquaero

and be able to control 15 fans and still be priced less.,another aquaero drawback is its a bay operated controller whereas the LC is ui windows based...

but it appears being newly registered, that you just wanna rant and thats ok too.

but consider this

2 LC's controlling 10 fans and still have $75 in your pocket;):

I believe the aquaero has both bay controls and a software UI. You can actually get a version with no screen, so it's basically a really expensive link. And yeah, I did register for my little rant, but I've been using Link and following along on the forums for a while.

Secretly I was hoping someone would tell me I'm being stupid and the fan nodes are available from somewhere else, I was just looking in the wrong place, but alas. Anyway, let's hope they do put out a v2 node, because I'd rather keep my Link system.

I'm running LINK on this computer (Windows 8) and have been pleased with its operation.

Building a new Windows 8.1 System, and I'll be using an Aquaero 6 on that System. I've been playing with the Aquaero and the Aquasuite software for over a week now, and I'm impressed with that system. Using the Aquastream XT Pumps (2 for 2 loops), MPS Flow Sensors, and numerous temperature sensors. I also like the ability to utilize any of the sensors and parameters from the motherboard for monitoring and control.

Yes it's expensive, but an awesome system.

Only if the LINK actually works.
