gfm747
Im not sure if this is normal but this is the first computer I built and the H100i noise is starting to annoy me. The firmware is 1.07 and 2.5.5145. Hope I find a way to fix this since I just bought this a few weeks ago. The fans are stock and is running at quiet mode and the buzzing sound is on and off. I can still hear the buzzing even at balanced mode. I added a link of my rig and its awful H100i buzzing. Sorry for the poor quality but I hope you can hear the buzzing. Braxos
Are you they are on quiet? As they can get stuck on a profile, check rpm they should report 800-950 rpm I get that noise on balanced mode and on high performance the grind noise disappears on the air noise going through the fins. If they are on quiet mode then when system is shutdown press the fan with your fingers gently on the motor part and do that few times it worked for me. gfm747
The one in the video was running on quiet and it still makes that sound when I put it on balanced and performance. Is it really the fans then? I guess I have to save and purchase new ones if that is what's causing it. Starting to get really annoyed at it. Insomniack
I couldn't hear any buzzing in that video. The stock fans on the H100i are a bit loud, but only at high speed as the fans run at about 2,400RPM. They should be quiet on low RPM, though. Check the RPM in Corsair Link and see if turning it down helps with the noise.
gfm747
The rpm is at 700 and i can still hear the buzzing. Really not sure if its the fans or the pump. I was wondering if I should return it.
gfm747
I recorded a new video hoping the buzzing would be more audible. Please try to listen to the noise during this times: Please try and listen to the sound on the clips at this times: 0:06 - 0:08 sec 0:19 - 0:21 sec 0:29 - 0:30 sec 0:34 - 0:36 sec 0:45 - 0:48 sec 1:10 -1:12 sec [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqPmKXmvjqg[/ame]
dburne
I can hear it, almost sounds like something trying to speed up and slow down, or spin up and spin down. You said it was a new rig, you are certain it is the H100i correct? I am new to the H100i having just put a new one in a build I did about 2 weeks ago. If you are sure that sound is coming from the H100i I would suggest contacting for an RMA just based on that sound, if that is the pump making the sound that could be trouble. Can you get in there closer and maybe isolate the sound to either the fans or the pump? If it is the fans that would certainly be easier to resolve. wytnyt
unplug the fans and start the system and see if the noise persists...
gfm747
I tried unplugging the fans and sadly the sound was still present so I unplugged all my other devices to check what was making that sound. I really believe now that it is the pump causing the sound. I was planning on buying replacement SP fans but I guess that would not help. I don't know what to do anymore, really frustrated since this is my first computer build.
dburne
How are your cpu temps with it on the new build? If they are ok, you are fine for the immediate moment however I would be very concerned that pump might fail on you , I think you should contact Corsair for a replacement just based on the noise it is making... it should not be making a noise like that. I just did a new system build with the same unit, and it is quiet - certainly does not make a sound anything like that. One last thing you might try, is checking the thumb screws you mounted the pump to the board with. Did you torque them down with a screwdriver? Maybe got one corner over-tightened too much. You might try backing off just a little on each corner and see if you hear a change in the sound.
gfm747
My temps range from 28-31 deg C on idle and up to 55 deg C on 100% load. I just screwed down the thumb screws till the first resistance I felt but I tried what you said and loosened them a bit more. Still no change... Corsair reps still did not reply but thanks for trying to help me..
