I know the heat spreaders are , and i know he was referring to just the logo. Thats what i was getting at... the little logo...I think it's just a small piece epoxied to the heat spreader. I don't believe it is machined out of the same piece the heat spreader is.

well hopefully i can be certain soon but i do recall this being brought up a while back

So it is expoxyd not machined as one peice.

I'd be willing to pull it off with a heat gun and hard razor blade, if I could get underneath it.

Someone on here has to own one> if I could get my hands on one I would definatley be better able to see how the logo is attached to the heatsink.

It could be molded as one piece with the logo> but...I see the logo itself has a darker black @ (glossy black paint) than heatsink @ flat black ~ , as well as the silver lettering> could this be a simple paint over process of the cast/molded heatsink?...I can see the outlines of the logo being cast onto the heatsink itself> after the logo is removed (if it can be).

Maybe Corsair technical support can chime in, if it's not machined or molded with the heat spreader and is a seperate piece applied, then it can't be that difficult to remove.

Does anyone own this memory that can chime in?

*The above photo looks like the logo is peeling forward (has a small shadow)

The second photo looks like a clear film that could be attached to the logo itself when it's packaged (what ever purpose that serves).

Although video's of the logo show it being a more solid piece.

AHHH, My Eyes!....Naked memory!

T I'm pretty sure that's just a protective film to keep it from getting scratched. Same clear film found on most electronics packaging anymore. It looks like they just didn't remove it, or didn't know it was there when they took the pics. It's hard to tell. One pic it looks to be a separate piece and others it looks like it's part of the module.

ill know thursday when i get mine, ill post back...

If you can do that that would be great.

The logo looks solid in most online picks> but the above pics show it as being loose> the pics are the memeory that come with the fan module and box etc.

I currently have some Kingtson Hyper X 8gb @ 1.65v.

Great ram, but would prefer 1.5v ram since I don't run my ram past @1400MHZ.

The 1.5v ram should run cooler at 1400MHZ.

* 8GB is enough for plenty of regular use. But @ 50 tabs in firefox that quickly leaves 2-3gb only> which won't cause major issues for most programs I use. But would definatly use the extra ram up to 16gb only.

The corsair Platinum models fit more snuggly into the slot's (from what I've seen) can anyone chime in on this? The Kingston models have some play...but the corsair's and some other ram I've seen have more resistance when seated into the slots> could be a height issue since the Kingstons heatsinks are taller> the corsairs seem to have wider and stiffer heatsinks.

* Another reason why i'd like to switch to them., because they sit closer.
