zhaoyun707
I've ordered this new Corsair 2100 Vengeance Headset from Newegg and it keeps making this hissing noise. Like when I turn it on. I can hear a small hissing on every volume level. The moment any audio source comes up. The hissing becomes louder and it will only return back to the small hissing if any audio source is stopped for at least 4-5 seconds. Is this normal for this headset or is mine defective? frankwang
My 2100 gives destroyed sound when playing movies, no matter it is RMVB or MKV. Tried the 2.0.16 as well as the BETA version. Waiting for the new driver to fix the issue.
Tartan
Mine has the same problem, I am not sure what is causing it. It only seems to be when their is no sound input from the computer the noise is there. When it is playing noise from a game I don't hear it. If someone figures it out please let me know. Corsair is this normal for this headset? Thats my exact question, I am going to try and call them tomorrow. They still havent answered my ticket. I just returned mine but loved the headset. I dont want to do it but I might have to get the plantronics 780 instead. Even over the 1500's just because I dont know if I trust any of the corsair's headsets. Beyond that it even makes me wonder when it comes down to mechanical keyboards if I should look the other way as well.

I'm thinking of returning my headset for a 3rd RMA to newegg or just getting a refund. The headset feels very good which is a huge PRO imo. cyrus360
I've got the same issue. I am seriously bummed. Have you guys had any luck going through Corsair? I am running Win 7 64bit, I have no other sound drivers installed and my onboard audio from my MSI GD-65 mobo is disabled. I get that white noise hiss which is very noticeable when there is no sound source playing. If I am playing a game or listening to any audio at all, it's basically drowned out and not audible at all. If I have no audio playing and I turn off the headset or mute the headset on the control panel, then the hissing is gone. I will try the beta drivers though before calling them. I was just wondering if you guys had any luck at all?

Sycobob
It seems to just be a shortcoming of the headset. Any time audio is played you'll hear the static if the audio is low enough, and then for a few seconds after audio stops. If I had to guess, the headset shuts down the wireless data channel when nothing is playing to save battery, and the static is just always there when the channel is open. The headset seems pretty sensitive to interference, so it's likely picking up electrical noise from your PC, or wireless noise in the air. It's an obnoxious issue, for sure. If we're lucky a software update may be able to fix it, but who knows. Kinda wishing I splurged on the Steel Series H Wireless or Astro A50.
