Hi there!

I'm about to try and water cool my new system I'm about to build.. And I wonder if someone could tell me how thick of a radiator (360, with atleast one row of fans) I can fit in the front when using a reference R9 290?

Talking about the Carbide air 540, Thanks!

The R9 290 is 10.9" long. That will leave you about 3-1/2 inches between the back of the R9 and the font of the 540 case.

You can mount the fans on the outside of the front of the case, as there is room for standard fans between the case and the front panel. That will buy you another inch.

The 540 is a great case for a water build. Both wytnyt and myself are currently building WC systems in that case.

I've seen folks at OCN fit UT60 360mm and 240mm thick rads in their air 450 build

They are about 60mm thick

Cool! Thanks guys! Really appreciate it :)

One other thing.. I was thinking about going with the EK D5 X-Res 140 pump/res combo, and was wondering if it would fit between the PCI slot-covers and the sidepanel? (at the "mesh" w or w/o modding) Optionally if it fits higher up at the 140mm back fan mount..?

When you buy such a fancy pump/res you don't really want to put it in the back where it isn't seen :p:
