CookieMunzta
Hi, I've recently upgraded from a Vengeance 1500 to a Vengeance 2000 headset. I've noticed an issue primarily with my microphone. Whenever I start up the PC and connect the headset, I can only hear Windows sounds through the headset, no YouTube, no iTunes. The microphone appears to work fine, up until the point that I can actually hear Youtube, iTunes, etc through the headset, at which point the mic no longer picks up anything I say. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the headset itself, uninstalling/reinstalling different versions of the Corsair software, everything. I can't find anything related to this issue on the internet, so I figure it might not be a common issue. Any help would be greatly received. Thanks. wytnyt
it sounds like a driver issue,it works until it goes into windows where it then stops...

That's what I'm thinking, however like I say, the mic works fine for ages, up until the point that anything plays through the headset.
Toasted
Have you tried disabling the on-board audio controller in the BIOS?
CookieMunzta
Have you tried disabling the on-board audio controller in the BIOS? Always had those disabled, can't stand on board audio ;) I think I may have solved it now though, as I uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled the last non-beta drivers, restarted the PC, then uninstalled and reinstalled the headset drivers, with another restart after that. I guess the drivers got screwed up on with my first uninstall/reinstall patterns. Thanks anyways guys.
CarlitoJr
Hi I believe I have a somewhat similar issue with the 1500. Idk so I just decided to tac on here... My mic is always on. And when I click the mute mic button on my controls on the actual headset they are blinking red and blue instead of just staying red. And they are still on. Idk if I messed up the drivers somehow. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and trying both versions and even 2000 as I read they would work as well. I've been working on this for two hours now and am completely lost. I've had no problems with these headphones until now Idk what to do next. Any advice would be great thank you. Oh and is it normal when trying to uninstall windows automatically updates the drivers for my 1500? I tried to turn this feature off but apparently I don't know what I'm doing. I can't say I've seen that problem before, but have you tried a clean uninstall? Take the headset out of the USB port, uninstall the software driver, then ininstall the headset driver via the Device Manager, reboot, install the Corsair software, reboot, then plug the headset back in to the USB slot, preferably a different one. It's a long shot, but that's what seemingly fixed my issue.
