Zerta
I recently bought and put together my new rig using an HX750 PSU. I started noticing this odd buzzing noise coming from inside and have narrowed it down to the PSU. [ame] [/ame] . The noise in the video seems to only start up when I'm playing games like Crysis. I'm really concerned that the noise is a sign of the PSU's imminent death, and that it will take the other parts with it.
peanutz94
It's called coil whine or buzz. It's common for high powered PSU and some components. It is not harmful to any of your components and also does not mean the PSu is going to fail. However the noise shouldn't be so loud that it can be heard over the rest of your system. If it can, then please use the link on the left to request an RMA.
Zerta
Would I be able to get the new one shipped to me without sending in the old one yet, to be sure it won't make the noise? Will it cost me anything?
wytnyt
in your rma you can request an advanced rma where they send the replacement to you first, this would require a credit card. they pay to ship to you,you pay to ship defective part to them...
