ZeroSumPhase
Windows 7 OS Just got my V2100 out of the box, plugged everything in and got her all charged up. Downloaded the software, and... nadda. I get a strange sound when I plug the dongle in, not the usual sound when a device is recognized. Removing and re-installing the software did not have any effect. edit: I have tried various USB ports to see if maybe the port was the problem. Restarting the system with dongle plugged in or unplugged also did not yield results. edit2: installed the headset and dongle on my laptop to ensure the hardware is working. Worked perfectly. Toasted
Go to Device manager, do you see any errors listed next to the headset? If yes, go to the properties windows and copy the device status message here.
ZeroSumPhase
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver. ----- after that, the computer repeatedly tries to 'detect' the device, and then flashes this message: ----- Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer. ----- Then, I hear the sound indicating a device is trying to connect, and then fails again. Over, and over, and... well, you get it. edit: the more I think about this, the less sense it makes. I mean, the headset should still function as a plug-and-play set (it worked on my laptop without installing drivers, right?)... This is starting to feel like a USB problem- but everything worked fine until I got this replacement set today. Any assistance is appreciated. ZeroSumPhase
---RESOLVED--- Mods feel free to close. I'd be lying if I said I knew exactly what I did to fix the issue. A few Windows updates, cleaned the registry, uninstalled and re-installed the Corsair software... hooked the dongle up, and got the nice 'device connected' sound. I think my heart stopped for a second, lol. Thanks to the Corsair community for your assistance :)
