Verderf
Hello guys, Been a while since I last build a PC and Ive ran into some problems that I don't really know how to start solving. Firstly, my setup: Intel i5 4670k Msi Z87 Mpower Max Corsair Vengeance LP CML16GX3M4A1600C9 (4x4GB) Corsair AX 850 PSU Nvidia Geforce 780 The problems started when I swapped an old mem kit I was using with this memory kit so Im guessing its something with the memory.(Windows 8 sad face and page fault) I tried enabling the XMP profile of the memory but that would just make my pc completely unstable. I did notice in the bios that the mem was running at 1.504v where the mem is supposed to be 1.5v, not sure if that matters or not. Ive overlocked my pc in the past a few times so my first guess was to start with prima95 so I did. Within 1 minute all 4 workers just stop with errors, all of them. peanutz94
Is your system overclocked now?
Verderf
Nope, not at all. all settings are stock :)
peanutz94
Try resetting your BIOS , enable the XMP profile, but manually set the memory voltage to 1.55-1.6v and re-run your test.
Verderf
Thanks, ill give it a go! Setting it to those voltages isnt going to damage the ram? seeing as they are 1.5v sticks :)
peanutz94
No, the memory good up to 2.0v before you would need to worry about damaging the modules. Of course you would damage other components at those voltages , but not at 1.6v
DeepBlueSky
Hi Verderf, I had some issues with memory maybe you have a bad batch, see my experence http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=124129 home this may help. FYI I was in the same boat as you re awhile since upgrading, anyway found out that the Haswell CPU's have the memory controllers integrated into the core as from what I have read you need to be careful about over volting the RAM too much with this series.
