SmOKeZ
Hey guys this is first time i ever installed ram so i would say yes i am noob but i understand to a certain extent what i have to do. The timings on this ram are the same as my other XMS3 and my board is a Gigabyte X58-UD3R. I tried to install the Vengeance RAM to run along side with the XMS3 RAM but i noticed the voltages are different so i dont know if its possible to do it now. Anyway thats not really my main concern as 12GB of vengeance RAM is more than enough for what I need so i can remove the 6GB XMS3 This 12GB Vengeance RAM just doesnt want to start up my PC. I cant even goto bios when i have it in. Also reset Cmos just ant getting anywhere. As soon as I put my XMS3 back in it boots fine. I tried changing the timings and voltage while the XMS3 was in then powering off and inserting the vengeance ram. Still same problem. Obviously im missing something here as this RAM is meant to be compatible with my motherboard. XMS3 was running at 1.65v 3x2GB Vengeance says 1.5v on the sticks. CMZ12X3M3A1600C9 3x4GB this is where i read that it was compatible http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=92043 Any idea what i am missing out? http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f367/Sm0KeZ/1491793_10153622980545179_1178207208_o.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f367/Sm0KeZ/1491838_10153622981335179_1484717962_o.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f367/Sm0KeZ/1468935_10153622981765179_1306299099_o.jpg
Synthohol
http://www2.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?sc=us&id=1362102 i do not see a 1600 12 gig kit listed as officially supported. the other user in the thread you linked may have just gotten lucky or maybe he has a different/newer bios running? peanutz94
Smokers, it's never recommended to mix sets, I would install just the 12 gig set and enable XMP and then manually set the voltage to 1.65v and your QPI voltage at 1.35v . See if that will let them boot normally.
