glenmark
I'm putting a shiny new TX750M power supply into an old eMachines box that has a MCP73VT-PM motherboard. The P4 connector on the board for CPU power is flanked on one side by a rather large inductor, and on the other side by a 3-pin jumper. These keep me from being able to attach the 8-pin EPS12V line from the PSU to the 4-pin connector on the mobo. The adjacent components are blocking the connector overhang. Options? peanutz94
The 8 pin should split in to two 4 pin connectors. I'm not so sure that PSU will work with that MB. I'm pretty sure it uses an older ATX spec that is not compatible with the newer PSU's . Let us know how you make out.
glenmark
Ah! Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if I would need to dig out an X-Acto knife to split the connector apart, but closer inspection revealed how the connector is designed to come apart. PSU transplant complete, and working like a charm.
