jteijelo
Hi everyone, I´m new here and this is my first post. Excuse me if I don´t use English too well, I´m from Spain. My case is a CM Storm Enforcer with a front 200mm fan as intake and an upper 200mm fan taking air out of the case. And most cables are hidden, so I think I have a good airflow. Yesterday I received my shiny brand new H60, and after a first attemp mounting it I had to replace its TIM because I scattered it. So I bought some TIM and finally installed it. I think it´s all in place... I put H60 (as Manual said) in the back, taking air in. Today I´ve made some tests with HWMonitor, Everest and Asus AI Suite II, using also Prime95 (Max temp test). -At Idle (while I´m writing this post) the temperature due to HWMonitor is: Core 0 - 31ºC Core 1 - 33ºC Core 2 - 28ºC Core 3 - 25ºC Package - 33ºC And due to Asus AI Suite II - CPU - 25ºC -Running Prime95 in Large FFT´s, after 10 minutes: HWMonitor: Core 0 - 72ºC Core 1 - 79ºC Core 2 - 75ºC Core 3 - 74ºC Package - 79ºC Asus AI Suite II: CPU - 57ºC My concern is that I think it´s running too hot, my 3770k is at stock speed. But I don´t know if I have to believe Asus program or HWMonitor... And I mounted my H60 three times, assuring myself that all is in place. Thank you very much in advance, hope I can get this fixed. Greetings!
wytnyt
the 3770k is a hot beast and will put out some heat. the h60 is a water replacement to using air high 70's is a tad high but still within range for the h60. depending on the paste used, your temps may drop a few degrees once it cures. jteijelo
Hi, thanks for the answer, the paste I used is a random no-trademark one, certainly, the only one the shop had today. But almost 80ºC seems a bit too much for me, printed on H60´s box it says "61,2ºC @ 4.6Ghz"...

But well, I´m not planning on OC, just leave it at stock, the only thing is that 79ºC measure... I think if I put it wrong that temp would be a lot higher, am I right? wytnyt
most certainly improper application will result in poor heat transfer you can have too much or not enough and have poor results.

Sure. I´ve just re-remounted everything and going to try again... -Meh, 79-80ºC peak. Don´t know what to do.
wytnyt
while im not sure the type of backplate the h60 has but if its like this http://ts2.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.5010063328084181&w=256&h=177&c=7&rs=1&pid=1.7 its possible to mount upside down which will affect temps also if your m/b has close capacitors they could be touching one side causing improper seating of the block... jteijelo
I´m playing Battlefield 4 at 1920x1080 Ultra settings for 20 minutes and it doesn´t pass 68ºC, is this a good one?

jteijelo
In Prime95 temp runs crazy (79/80ºC), but 45 minutes more or less in Bf4 only made a small peak of 73ºC, always at 68ºC. I´ll keep testing and putting MX4 paste in case it´d help. Thank you very much for keeping up reading my whines! ;) Greetings.
wytnyt
no problem at all id give the paste a few days to see if that helps also as paste needs to heat and cool a few times to fully cure...
