Sony notebook won't boot all the way

My mom has a Sony VPCEB3QFX/WI notebook and when I installed cmso8gx3m2a1333c9 memory sticks the computer won't even boot all the way. It basically shows the Vaio screen at boot but then when it suppose to start loading Windows it shows the boot like normal or repair mode screen and I tried both but it keep booting the same screen every time I restart the system. On the bios it does detect the 8GB ram. Now I thought the rams was bad for some reason but when I tried it on a HP 2000-2b09WM notebook that is a newer system it works fine. So apparently the ram isn't bad. But I kinda wonder if I still have a defective ram and soon I will even have problems on the HP even now it works fine.

I guess I could ask is that does the cmso8gx3m2a1333c9 rams work on 2010 Sony notebooks? Normally this notebook takes a PC3-8500 but I know the one I got can down clock to 1066mHz. My HP notebook does also use PC3-8500 and can only go upto 8GB since it's a cheap notebook even I just got it like a week agao.

But I hope that the ram isn't bad since as of now I did put it on my HP but if there is a way I can use it on my Sony that would be the best. I put the specs of my moms computer on my profile.

Thank You

Well since this ram is high density type if it works on my HP notebook then will it be fine forever? meaning that because I' am using a high density ram it won't cause problems in the future on the HP notebook? So far the Sony notebook doesn't work but the HP does so I thought it would be totally fine on the HP but maybe high density type rams aren't good as low density and it will cause problem in the future.

Dalls I think your reading too much into things. But it's going to depend on the modules timings. For example a kit that runs at 1333mhz CL9 and you have a kit that is 1333mhz CL8 . The CL 8 part would be slightly faster. But it is nothing you would ever notice in real world applications.

There is nothing wrong with using that memory in your HP. It wont or cant cause any harm to your system. Most laptops have locked BIOS's anyway. So no matter what memory you put in, the machine is going to set them to whatever HP's BIOS sets them to. Whether it's low density or high density it's not going to matter in your case.

As far as your Sony is concerned, you just need to find a set of older modules that use no larger than 256mb chips. And that actually a limitation of the CPU in the laptop.

Well the reason I' am asking is that since when I did put the 8GB total rams on my HP the memory speed was not at 800mHz it was like around 667mHz I think. I can't remember exactly but I thought that maybe it was because it was a high density ram and it's slower than low ones with same speed. I saw that high density ones are good for overclocking but are slower and the low ones are faster and aren't good for overclocking. I won't overclock so I thought I need to get the low density ram since the one I have is some reason now at 800mHz like what the original ram came with.
