OFarrell86
So for no reason at all when I boot up my computer today the LED changes to purple, Nothing apart from CPU temp shows in corsair link and uninstalling and re-installing doesn't help in anyway. I tried to see if I could update the firmware but apparently the H80i isn't connected. Anyone had problems like this ? This is my 3rd cooler from Corsair that's just gone weird for no reason at all. wytnyt
how are you getting a oc of 4.6 with an h80i? it isnt designed for this on a hot chip like a 3770. no offense but 3 coolers, perhaps its a heat issue. you have everything maxed out in your specs i see ,,so thats alot of heat there for a h80i to take care of

The first cooler had a problem were you couldn't actually screw anything into the radiator as the screw holes had no grip so I had to send that back, The 2nd H80i came without the fan header as it looks like it wasn't attached in the factory and this one has faulty LED's and doesn't even show in the software. wytnyt
im just saying the cooler has a controller in it thats basically a circuit board and like all circuit boards are prone to high heat no 60c is not high for the cooler but even so it isnt designed for this oc even with the 4770,the h80i is basically a water replacement for high end air. with this oc your doing something not many can do and thats good. does your cooler show in link devices? The temperature of the CPU, GPU and SSD show but nothing else. *EDIT* The temps are still very low, Idle of 26'c and load of 54'c, Could it be the USB cable thats just stopped working ? wytnyt
it sounds like the hydro isnt going to be listed in your link devices tab,if not some things to check of course would be the wiring to insure nothing has wiggled loose also check to insure it isnt a conflicting usb device such as a flash drive, mouse ect.. you can also try running to a rear usb port. when you reinstalled did you also delete the apps folder? its safe to assume you know your way around a computer so id delete all references of sierra and corsair in your registry after uninstalling and redo the software anytime this is done a cold boot is necessary id also think back before this happened to see if you remember making/changing or adding anything within your computer that could affect things... OFarrell86
Well I'm going to give the H80i to a friend for one of his mod projects and get something else, In the future I'll only buy SSD's, Ram and fans from Corsair as I've had nothing but bad experiences with their all in one coolers. wytnyt
sorry to hear this, ive found some system configurations have a hard time co-existing with the link system on a side note tho, corsair does offer a totally different cooler that isnt based on the link the h110 which has much better cooling capacity than the h80i ,where the fans are controlled by the m/b i also notice your using your gforce gtx780 software to monitor and control, these are things that could possibly affect the link

But even after uninstalling both corsair link and the software for monitoring the graphics card, cleaning the system then reinstalling corsair link it still doesnt show the LED's or even the h80i, the H80i doesnt even show up in the devices list of corsair link. OFarrell86
After a bit of testing with a friends H80i it turns out that it's the USB connection on the block itself that's faulty

Cooleo :P I gave the cooler to a friend, He's going to mod the LED part of the cooler with a different picture and LED segment as for me I have just picked up a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 2, Cools exactly the same as the H80i and has no moving parts, Idle of 26'c and load of 58'c is the highest I've seen it go to in game so far, In short, The exact temperatures of the H80i :)
