Deadalus
I'm putting together a new build with a Corsair 350D. If I replace the front 140mm fan, would it be better to use Corsair AF or SP fans? I noticed there is plenty of space inside the case for the fan/s, but obviously the front fan/s are very close to the front grill and there's no direct airflow because of the front cover. Also, I plan to install a Hydro H100i and have the rear fan as an intake with a dust filter installed. I guess that an AF fan is fine in this case? Thanks for your help. pegotico
the af cause the SP is basically for pressure (radiators) http://www.corsair.com/us/cpu-cooling-kits/air-series-fans/air-series-af140-quiet-edition-high-airflow-140mm-fan.html The 140mm spins at a lower rpm, quieter and giving you plenty of air vs a 120mm fan
Deadalus
Thanks. The reason I asked is because the description for the AF series says "Air Series AF case fans perform best in unrestricted spaces with at least 3cm (1.2”) of clearance". I think there is less than 3cm of clearance at the front of the 350D... so this is why I wondered if the SP would be a better choice.

For a case the AF will move more air at less RPMS (less noise) which is what everybody wants, but if you have a radiator you need air with a lot of pressure to be able to pass through the radiator and better cool it on this case the SP has 3.1 mm/H20 while the AF has 1.1 mm/H20 of static pressure. One is made for fan cooling and the other is made for radiator, heatsinks cooling.
