Smoth
hi all, i have a P5E3 mobo with a intel Q6600 processor, i've bought 2 kit of RAM DDR3 Corsair XMS3 DHX TW3X4G1333C9DHX 1333Mhz 4GB (2x2GB) CL9 but i'm unable to run the OS with all bios settings to auto , the pc get stuck on boot even booting from CD. i've tryed a lot of bios settings but i always get stuck, the best settings i've found that let me boot the OS (at very low speed) is this: 3----Ai Overclock Tuner = Manual eXtreme Memory Profile = Disabled CPU Ratio Setting = 9 FSB Strap to Northbridge = 333 FSB = 333 DRAM Frequency = DDR3-1333 DRAM Command Rate = 2N DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A = Auto DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B = Auto DRAM Timing Control = Manual CAS# Latency = 9 RAS# to CAS# Delay = 9 RAS# PRE Time = 9 RAS# ACT Time = 24 All Else to Auto DRAM Static Read Control = Disabled DRAM Dynamic Write Control = Disabled Transaction Booster = Disabled CPU Voltage = Auto CPU PLL Voltage = Auto FSB Termination Voltage = Auto DRAM Voltage = 1.7v NB Voltage = 1.45v SB Voltage = Auto Clock Over-Charging Voltage = Auto Load Line Calibration = Auto CPU GTL Voltage Reference = Auto NB GTL Voltage Reference = Auto CPU Spread Spectrum = Disabled PCIE Spread Spectrum = Disabled can you help me to find a stable configuration? Thanks P.S. i've tried also to start the pc with only 2 baks but it get stucked on Initialising USB Controller (i don't know why). if i put 2 sticks of TW3X2G1333C9A (2x1gb) all works. peanutz94
i've bought 2 kit of RAM DDR3 Corsair XMS3 DHX TW3X4G1333C9DHX 1333Mhz 4GB (2x2GB) CL9 but i'm unable to run the OS with all bios settings to auto , When you use multiple kits it is viewed as mixing memory because all the sticks were not tested together. This is also something that Corsair does not suggest or support. The first thing to check is to make sure you have the latest BIOS, the separate the two kits and try them each on their own. It's entirely possible you just have two kits that don't like each other. Let us know if this makes any difference.
Smoth
i've tried to put 1 kit only but the pc get stucked on Initialising USB Controller. later i'll try to update the BIOS, reset settings to default and try to boot with only 1 kit. Smoth
the version number is v.3.3 for both kit EDIT: after the bios update if i put one kit (so 2x2gb) all works ok with both kit, but with 2 kit (4x2gb) seems that the sistem is unstable and it can't boot, i know that you don't support 2 different kits, but can you give me some suggestion in order to let the system be more stable? thanks
peanutz94
You can try setting them to a lower speed such as 1066 or even 800mhz. Or raise your DIMM voltage to 1.9v and .02v to your NB voltage. But if neither of those work then there really isn't anything you can do to make them work together. Sometimes it just doesn't work no matter what you do.
Smoth
thanks for the help, with these settigs the system is stable with both kits: BIOS : 1503 Ai Overclock Tuner = Manual eXtreme Memory Profile = Disabled CPU Ratio Setting = 9 FSB Strap to Northbridge = 333 FSB = 333 DRAM Frequency = DDR3-1333 DRAM Command Rate = Auto DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A = Auto DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B = Auto DRAM Timing Control = Auto DRAM Static Read Control = Auto DRAM Dynamic Write Control = Auto Transaction Booster = Disabled CPU Voltage = Auto CPU PLL Voltage = Auto FSB Termination Voltage = Auto DRAM Voltage = 1.9v NB Voltage = 1.27v SB Voltage = Auto Clock Over-Charging Voltage = Auto Load Line Calibration = Auto CPU GTL Voltage Reference = Auto NB GTL Voltage Reference = Auto CPU Spread Spectrum = Auto PCIE Spread Spectrum = Auto with these settings i ran memtest for abot 7 hours (4 test fully executed) with no errors. peanutz94
Awesome! I really had my doubts that would work, but I'm glad it did anyway!
