Corsair Link Issues

Has anyone had a issue with the wires melting when using the corsair link cooling and lighting node? i run all corsair quiet airflow series fans and i hooked them all into the cooling node and from the node to the main hub the wire melted and nearly started a fire in my case. i began to unplug that wire and tried running the computer again and the lighting node wire began to melt but i was able to turn the computer off quicker so it didnt melt completely. i tried experimenting with the set up and everytime anything connected to the nodes or the main hub atleast one thing would begin to heat up and burn. i was wondering if anyone heard of a issue like this happening or have any ideas of why this would happen my power supply is a corsair 1200i if u need more info let me know. thank you for the help!

Yeah man, I had the same issue. I was lucky thou, I only connected 2 fans to test if it worked a while back. It didn't, and as I gave up, and started unplugging the node, I felt it was really hot. To the point where I almost burnt my fingers. I guesstimated that the node was under dimensioned for the current needed for the fans, so I bought a PWM multiplier with an external power source. It only takes the PWM signal from the node, but doesn't draw power from it, as the power connector on the splitter is connected directly to the PSU. Now the node doesn't get hot anymore, and the only issue I have left is the custom curve bugs, but I hope it will get sorted out when I receive my new corsair fans, and if not, hopefully it will be solved in the next software update.

I suggest you try PWM splitter(s) like I did, they are pretty cheap, and will most likely solve your problem, if you can still use your node or get a new one, that is.

Good luck!
