ibart
Hi. I have an old Q6600 / DX38BT. I have 4 gigas of ram. I bought BF4 and a friend of mine told me i need more RAM to prevent it to swap. I decided to buy 2 kit CMV4GX3M2A1333C9 (8 gigas). Are they compatible with my motherboard? http://www.intel.com/support/it/motherboards/desktop/dx38bt/sb/cs-028330.htm I checked the link http://www.corsair.com/configurator/ and they are not listed. The suggestion is to buy TW3X4G1333C9DHX, but i cannot find a retailer near to me to buy em. So, what do I have to do? Thanks and sorry for my bad english. peanutz94
Are they compatible with my motherboard? http://www.intel.com/support/it/moth.../cs-028330.htm Im sorry, NO, they are not. As matter off fact most if not all of Corsairs memory would be incompatible with that system due to changes in Memory construction and limitations of your chipset. Even the kit listed in the configurator would also be incompatible anymore
ibart
May I ask you why they are not compatible?
peanutz94
Here I just answered a similar question . The board is a slightly newer p45 chipset board, but your p35 board will be the same . http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=123463 As per your PM...You would need to ask that manufacturer if they would work. ibart
Sorry, i'm noob. i don't get it. Do I have to use 256Mx8 ram? :( Anyway, do I have to use 4 x 2gb or 2 x 4 gb is the same? Any Corsair module wont work? O.o Argh.
peanutz94
Do I have to use 256Mx8 ram? Yes, at the very least. With your MB it would need to be 4x2gigs Any Corsair module wont work? I'm sorry, no. The reason being is that you can not specify what version you get when ordering. So unless you luck out and get modules made with the smaller IC's they wont run on that MB. ibart
mmmm... so the problem is to find a ram with eight 256M and not sixteen 128M modules. right now, my 4 gigas ram are based on eight 128M... thanks and sorry, i'm very noob! :)
peanutz94
Actually you could use the 128's too. Just no larger than 256. If you can find a 4x2gig kit of 1066mhz memory , they should work. At least as far as Corsair memory is concerned. However they are no longer listed in the webstore, so I wonder if they have finally been discontinued. There really isn't much call for memory for these older systems anymore.
