Hurricane501
UPDATE: So i downloaded the latest drivers and made no difference. The sound when nothing is playing still comes through. WHY IS THIS?
st0neh
Mute the microphone in the Windows Playback Devices for the headset. The one in recording Devices is the actual mic, the one in Playback Devices is the loopback.
Hurricane501
I will try this later. Even when I mute the mic in the headset it makes noise though so I doubt this will work. amazing how these got in the shelves with such bugs! Saybol
this is the thing you're going to have to get a little used to with the 1500. If you want good sound you're gonna have to tweak it.. in both windows and the corsair software. That static is the loop audio from your mic. If you're using the latest drivers go into Audio Devices> Playback> Double click your Corsair Vengeance 1500> Levels> mute the Line audio and Mic Audio and magically you'll have no static noise looping to your headphones. Also make sure that your mic input and headphone output quality is set to the highest possible setting 16bit 48khz or higher. This can help reduce artifacts like buzzing in your headphones. Keep in mind that you've done this whenever you decide you want to chat with somebody later on. And just my personal opinion, i prefer to have the line loop audio on when im in a game and talking with somebody.. it helps me hear what im saying so i dont instinctively yell over loud ingame audio. I think everybody can agree that there are some annoying things about this product but you dont gotta yell and scream at corsair for making a ****ty product.. you never know if there is a quick fix for an issue you're having. Hurricane501
Thats not a fix thats makes it a complete hassle! Ive sent them back and getting a razer pair. last time I buy corsair. Even with the mic fully disabled it still gives static when nothing is playing.
Saybol
Thats your choice but i've got news for you.. no GOOD pair of headphones is going to sound perfect out of the box. You will have to tweak it, mess with settings, play with software. Razer uses its own software that has a twenty minute configuration process to simulate surround for your games. Just something to consider.
st0neh
There's no static noise when the headset is actually configured properly.
Hurricane501
Yes there is always static with these crappy headphones. The razer is 2 mins not 20 mins. and they work out the box just fine and so do the gamescom 780s. these 1500 are bad and I urge people to avoid them!!!! st0neh
Install the 1.1 drivers, then... Mute the microphone in the Windows Playback Devices for the headset. The one in recording Devices is the actual mic, the one in Playback Devices is the loopback. Voila, magical lack of mic loopback.

Toasted
You may have received a headset with a bad microphone. Replacing it via your seller may have helped.
CNCRaymond
The sound when nothing is playing still comes through. Been requesting a fix for this now for some time. Just keep hearing static form Corsair about it. (Nothing.) After this, I will not be buying Corsair anything. Sorry, but the k95 keyboard ghost spacing, keys that have bad coatings that wear off after weeks of use, M60/65 mice wheel slop, and right click button breakage, coupled with the ALWAYS ON mic of the H1500 just did me in. I have began to migrate away from these corsair products replacing them as I get the funds. I am sorry Corsair, I simply don't trust your products any more.
