marix
Hello, decided to upgrade my system and bought CMZ24GX3M6A1600C9 ram today. My system details: i7 920 cpu, asus p6t, win7 pro 64bit. System only recognize 16gb on auto mode. on xmp profile1 or profile2 its only 8gb ram. On both profiles bsod on booting win. Only can boot on auto mode. cpu-z see all 24gb but as dual channel. And my system supposed to be tripple channel. Pack of 6 is new, just recieved today from amazon. 24GB (6x4GB) 865996 133906488 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 1.5V ver 8.
peanutz94
Hi matrix, memory mis-detection issues are quite common with the X58 chipset. Have you tried any of the suggestions out lined i this thread? http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=82274 Can you post a screen shot of both CPUz memory and SPD tabs? marix
Yes, i was reading forums whole day. Playing with many values, put qpi 1.45v and 1.66v as suggested. Nothing, if i touch any values its 8gb ram max. I made screen of slot1 only, all 1-6 are same
peanutz94
If none of those worked , the next thing would be to pull your CPU and check the socket for bent pins. Also uneven mounting pressure on your CPU cooler could also cause this. At the very least I would suggest remounting your cooler. But if your going to do that , you might as well take it one step further and remover the CPU. BIOS up to date?
marix
Cooller is perfect, me installed new big one along with rams and psu today. I put back previuos rams dominator 6gb tr3x6g1866c9d and they work perfect. bios is latest official 1408
peanutz94
Marix,i understand you just installed it today and it may look perfect, but please try and remount it and make sure the top two bolts are just a little tighter than the bottom two. Huge heatsinks pull on the socket and can cause this issue. Just because the 6 gig kit is detected okay doesn't mean that a 24 gig kit will. I can say that from personal experience too! If you are unwilling to try these steps, then it's going to be impossible to diagnose this. . It has nothing to do with the memory and everything to do with your board/cpu
marix
Ok, i will repeat it in some hours. Also i have noticed, everytime me reboot pc, ram changing 8-12-16. But never more then 16gb. But explain me why its dual channel not tripple? All who had similar problems like me, had tripple channel on cpu-z.
marix
Hi again. I did everything again. Mounted cpu+cooller. No help. was runing memtest for 8 hours now. No errors. Was running intelliburn test for cpu, no errors. Btw memtest detect all slots like cpu-z, but summary only 12gb. Bios detect 16gb.

Was running intelliburn test for cpu, no errors. Btw memtest detect all slots like cpu-z, but summary only 12gb. Bios detect 16gb. But it was help. If you notice things have changed. No errors and all slots are now detected. This is what I was looking for and that change just reaffirms my suspicion that it has something to do with the socket itself or the cooler you are using. Now make sure your memory voltage is set to 1.65v and your QPI v to 1.35v.And If that does not fix the remaining detection issue then it's probably best to contact ASUS. marix
Thanx for your help peanutz94. But i mean it didnt help cause cpu-z was detecting all slots from begining, just bios doesnt. Bios detect different amount of ram every boot. And if i go to 1.65 1.35 always 8gb detected. And it have nothing to do with Asus, those rams not compatible with this mobo. Wheres my fault if i went to corsair memory finder, and it recommended me wrong rams. 300$ thrown away.... Full forum those rams detected wrong. If i go to this forum instead of corsair memory finder before. 2 days i spent on this tried everything.
peanutz94
The memory is indeed 100% compatible. And it has everything to do with ASUS. This is a MB issue no mater if the memory is listed in the configurator or not. Memory can not just change how it is detected because it isn't listed as a "compatible" kit.
