twod
Hi, My computer was sleeping. I turned it on but my fans didn't turn on. My fans are connected into the Corsair Pump link. So, I turned off my computer and rebooted. my computer would not boot and said that my pump fan wasn't on. I watched my fans turn on, on boot up but a few seconds later they stopped working. So, I took out the 2 fans from the 2 headers on the Pump and connected them directly to the mobo. I turned on the pump, and my system booted and functioned as normal. Also, I checked my temperatures and they seem to be fine. (25-27C) idle. So, the pump is working. Now since I plugged my fans directly into the mobo, the fans are at max fans speed :\ . Also, I am not using Corsair Link because in the past Corsair Link was not compatible with Windows 8. Now, I am not sure if I have to update the Firmware for my pump or do I have to download new corsair link, and if it will work with windows 8. <I'm tired of hearing my fans at max speed /sigh > CPU: 3770k OS: Windows 8 Cooler: Corsair h100i Mobo: Asus Sabertooth z77 Thanks for reading Update: I tried to update the firmware to 1.0.7 but I am getting an error saying that H100i isn't connected..but I have the USB plugged directly into the MOBO. I pushed firmly on the mobo to make sure its in plus I checked the connection the the pump as well it looks connected as well. Note: My two fans are on the FAN_CPU and FAN_OPT because my fans will not turn if I hookup directly to the PUMP headers. I do have latest version of Corsair Link installed with the USB driver. (Corsair Link 2.4.5110) Update2 : I tried all the USB headers (3 of them) on my MOBO and the Corsair Link Still can't detect the H100i.

Specter
Doesn't Asus have their own fan control software that comes with the motherboard? Try controlling the fans from there
twod
This morning, some how my Sabertooth z77 detected the USB on the Corsair Link. So I updated the firmware to 1.0.7 . I took the 2 fans that were hooked to the mobo and connected them to the h100i. I started my system up and it booted. Now i could actualyl use the LED's. I thought it was working correctly but since then, my computer went to sleep again. and when I woke it up again, my fans would not turn on. Also, doing a manual reboot the fans would not turn on there for no boot would happen. So, now I am running the fans again on the Mobo. Anyone know what might be causing the disconnection of the USB on the motherboard? I do have AI Suite running . is this a problem? Also, now I have not accessibility to the LED's anymore. Specter
Putting the computer to sleep may not be the best idea especially if you are using hibernate mode as that causes all sort of issues. Have you tried it without putting the computer to sleep? Also are you using Windows 8 or 8.1? The thing is that Corsair link controls the fans, it runs at start up, if it does not run or resume from sleep then the cooler will not know what to do. Computers these days are so fast that a cold start is just as fast as waking it up from hibernation.

Computers these days are so fast that a cold start is just as fast as waking it up from hibernation. I'm running Windows 8. Now my problem is that (i think) my corsair link is not being detected by the mother. My question is how much Voltage does the USB 2.0 need to have? Checking my manual of my Sabertooth z77 the headers onthe mobo only supply 5V and doesn't specify the current. Also, I updated to latest BIOS and had no effect with this issue
peanutz94
This can be solved real easy. Go into your BIOS and see what the pumps RPM's are. If they are zero in your BIOS or real low, then you would nee to RMA the cooler. My question is how much Voltage does the USB 2.0 need to have? Checking my manual of my Sabertooth z77 the headers onthe mobo only supply 5V and doesn't specify the current. It's irrelevant. While a USB 2.0 header can supply power , I believe CL uses it for DATA only. Your getting your power from a SATA connector. Even at that, CL would be way below any amperage ratings the header would have. The thing is that Corsair link controls the fans, it runs at start up, if it does not run or resume from sleep then the cooler will not know what to do. Totally plausible! Wondering when/how doing this: I have to have the fans hooked up the Pump (2 Male headers) its self with the extra header (1Female Header) on CPU_FAN? When I enter BIO's I am looking the CPU_FAN RPM? peanutz94
You don't have to have the fans connected, but yes, the single lead needs to be connected to the CPU_FAN header. And yes, that would be the pumps RPM in your BIOS.
