marmotman
Hi all! Think I posted this in the wrong area earlier: Please be gentle with me ;-) I've searched the forums and I'm getting a bit lost. Here's my issue: I recently updated the BIOS on my ASUS mobo and strange things have started happening. Mainly when using my recording software Avid Pro Tools. Its throwing up Visual C++ and thread data errors that it never used to. I've reinstalled everything clean but still the issues remain. After a LOT of mooching around t'interwebs, and running both Memtest and CPU-Z (etc etc) I'm coming to the conclusion that it may be that my lovely 8GB of RAM (Pro Tools is 32bit, no point going higher yet) is not set up correctly. Would the BIOS update overridden the settings from before? Here's what CPU-Z says: http://i40.tinypic.com/e0lydv.png http://i39.tinypic.com/5p3cp2.png http://i44.tinypic.com/346kymt.png Should I overclock? How do I overclock? Am I already overclocking? What is overclocking? System info in my signature. Thanks in advance people. http://www2.corsair.com/configurator...?sc=us&id=5023
