Hi there guys went to upgrade my ram today and i need some help,

to start things off my system specs:

Windows 7 (64 bit)

Motherboard: Asus P5G41-M LE

gfx: HIS radeon 7770 ghz edition 1Gb

My system booted fine with the old ram ( 2 sticks of 2gb ddr3 1333), i picked up a single 8gb 1600mhz (i didnt find out till later my mobo only supports 1333mhz ram) stick and my system wouldnt boot at all so i took the ram back and picked up an 8gb 1333 corsair vengeance stick and my system still wont boot. i can get it to boot fine by putting back in the 2 old 2gb 1333mhz sticks.

Any help will be appreciated so much! Thanks in advance

Your MB can't use 8 gig sticks. Max capacity is only 8 gig's so it would need to be 4x2gigs.

Are you sure it's DDR3 memory? Board specs list only DDr2 memory for that board. Besides not being able t use 8 gig sticks this would be another reason why it wont boot.

Thanks for the reply @peanutz that website is wrong, on the box of my mobo it says supports dual channel ddr3 1333, looked through the manual and it doesn't say anything about max of 4gb on a single stick.

This really really sucks as I just wasted a hundred bucks on this new ram... Is there absolutely nothing I can do?
