IndygoProphecy
Purchased my Corsair H100 on Sept 30, 2012 and today Nov 4, 2013 I turn on my CPU and my Bios says I have a CPU fan error. both fans cooling the radiator are working fine so it has to be the cooling system itself. So I was just wondering since it has been over a year, do I need to reapply thermal paste to make it cool the CPU again so it doesn't make the temp climb 1 degree Celsius per sec till it reaches 190 degrees Celsius
peanutz94
So I was just wondering since it has been over a year, do I need to reapply thermal paste to make it cool the CPU again so it doesn't make the temp climb 1 degree Celsius per sec till it reaches 190 degrees Celsius I would have to say that the pump has failed in that unit. Your MB isn't detecting any movement from the pump and why your getting the CPU Fan error. Best to have it replaced. wytnyt
cold boot your computer 3 times,if it boots any one of those times it could be the tach lead on the controller,i have an h80i and once out of 20 or so times ill get this also .,this would mean the cooler is still working but its signal is bunged and of course would need replaced just for the sake of being thorough,id check the tach lead connection.. IndygoProphecy
Reapplied Thermal Paste and it didn't make any difference. The Radiator feels cold and both tubes feel cold as well so I'm thinking the pump must be bad like you said. If that's normal i'm not sure what is goin on. Tech support at Computer Discount said the liquid may have evaporated but it just happned today and temps have been fine ever since.
wytnyt
if its under warranty id just replace it,but im curious as its impossible for the cpu to reach 190C,,what are you using to determine the temps?
IndygoProphecy
The Asus Sabertooth Z77 has a nice clean bios and has temp control on the front page. Was going to download another temp panel application to see if its just bios giving wrong info but need to wait a bit for it too cool down before it lets me get past bios
wytnyt
somethings wrong as a 2700 tjmax is 98c and if it came near this it would throttle back to stabilize temps and if not it would shutdown.. i think your reading Fahrenheit,,

IndygoProphecy
Loaded up diablo 3 as a quick test and temps shot up to 90 degree Celsius and went from 3k MHz to 800 MHz and ended up with 2 fps so cool water must not be getttin to cpu still :(

peanutz94
depends if your overclocked,it is running above normal but i dont know your clock Overclocked or not, idle temps in the 60's and climbing is not normal. Just replace that unit , there is no sense in chancing burning up your CPU.
Vaath90
I get the fan at boot error too. How in bios can i see where the fan speed and such are?
wytnyt
I get the fan at boot error too. How in bios can i see where the fan speed and such are? it depends on where you connected it to,proper connection is the cpu-fan header so in bios look for the cpu fan 1,it should be reading ~2200 or slightly less... Vaath
I get the error but BIOS shows a cpu fan going. Corsair Link also shows fan for pump fan is on and at about 2k rpm.....but this is on second. Weird I see 2 sets of fans....fan 1 fan 2 and pump are all off. But down at bottom fan 1 and fan 2 are lit up including fans for the pump.
