Brouski
New build with a H90 and i5 3570k. Idle temps are passing 70° C. The pump unit itself is hot to the touch, and I can't tell if the pump is running or not. It's plugged into the CPU fan header and BIOS reports rpm's of 7900-8000. The radiator unit is cool. Brouski
So I take off the pump, reapply some AS3 I have lying around, reseat, and try again. Temperatures starting climbing again like before, and I hear a sound that sounds like a click. All of a sudden temps and rpm's plummet, and it's idling at about 26-27°. Did the pump decide to start working? :sunglasse

Without being there to witness that sound or see what you are ,it's pretty hard to say for sure. But i wouldn't chance it. I would have the unit replaced.
