Ssayer
I purchased a Corsair Link cooling and lighting kit, along with a H100i, an AXi760, and a GPU node. No matter what I try, however, I can't get the Corsair Link software to recognize ANY of those. I've tried each piece separately, I've connected them all together, I've tried multiple USB headers, I've tried using a different cable for the H100i, and I've tried both v1 and v2 of the Corsair Link sofware, all without success. The system is a fresh install, there are no extra drivers, and AISuite is not installed. What am I missing?
Toasted
Check the Commander Unit FW. It may be on FW 1.1.9, LINK 2.x.x needs FW 2.0.6 to detect the Commander unit.

Ssayer
recheck all of your connections,is the commander lit with activity? did you do ANY connection with the computer powered>? I only have commander plugged into my board at the moment, in an attempt to simplify everything. I've tried both available USB 2.0 headers as well as Corsair Link 1 and 2, and no, I didn't plug/unplug anything with the computer running. This thread by Toasted is what finally got me up and going, after tearing my hair out (what's left). http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=113619 RodeoGeorge Unfortunately, I've already given that a try. My Link Commander isn't recognized in Corsair Link v1 or v2.
wytnyt
if you know the link commanders data cable[usb] is hooked up it should display a red/orange light,if it doesnt then replace the unit... and not saying this was done[i always mention this] but after pulling the power wait 15-30 seconds till the LC light goes out before removing ANY connections
Ssayer
I haven't seen a visible LED anywhere on the Link Commander. Where would it be glowing?

Ssayer
Ah-ha. Now that I see it, I can't believe I've missed it previously. No, I've never seen that LED light up. In addition, when I plug my H100i directly into the motherboard with the provided USB cable, the Corsair logo on the face of the pump assembly remains dark. However, when I used the USB adapter provided with the AXi, I get signs of life. The LED on the adapter goes green during boot, but when Windows loads, the light goes red, and nothing appears in Corsair Link. One last bit of info that may or may not be important - the CPU fan plug attached to the corsair to report fan speed to the motherboard doesn't return any value. The fans spin, and the pump is running, but the motherboard doesn't detect a running fan. EDIT: Seems I spoke too soon. When I tabbed back to Corsair Link after writing this post, I noticed that there are new sensors present. It is detecting the AX Temp and AX Fan sensors, but both are reporting as 0. The fanspeed info is actually correct since the AXi fan doesn't spin until under load, but I don't know whether that's an accurate reading or a coincidence, and I'm not sure how comfortable I am loading down my computer while my heat sink is only marginally operational. EDIT 2: I realized I could put a load on my PSU by using my video card, so I ran FurMark for a bit and got the PSU fan to spin. Unfortunately, that was NOT reported in Corsair Link, so though the AXi is showing up, it isn't actually reading any data.
Toasted
Contact your seller and ask if they can replace your unit (Corsair LINK Kit) as it is faulty. For the H100i, Is it detected in LINK? If not, have you tried a mini USB B to Type A cable? For the AXi, Have you tried restarting the service? (Options Tab) Have you tried reinstalling LINK? Have you tried an older version? Ssayer
The H100i is not detected in Link version 1 or version 2. I've tried it with the standard internal USB cable provided with the system, and a mini B to A cable with no success. For the AXi, it is detected in Link if I use the USB cable that came with it, but it doesn't actually report any data. Both sensors show up with values of 0. I've tried reinstalling version 2 with no change, and the AXi doesn't even show up in version 1. On the adapter itself, when I start the system, the LED on it glows green. Once I log into my account on Windows, though, the LED goes red.
Toasted
Open up Device Manager and see if you see any Unknown Devices listed.
Ssayer
Nope, all shows as expected. I've never been able to find any indication of the Corsair devices listed, though. Do you know what names and categories they'd be under? Do you know of any BIOS settings regarding USB control that might be relevant to this issue? creos7
hey man, we have a very similar situation, though i don't have the dedicated link unit. 1) I installed the 860i using the USB dongle and I DID see it in the Link Software! I could even control the fan and force it to run when the unit was under low load (just as a test) 2) A day later, I installed H100i, and in the process got rid of the USB dongle (to conserve mobo usb ports), so I plugged the PSU into the H100i extension port, and the H100i USB cable into the same mobo port as the dongle had been into In the Link software I see NO H100i, and now the PSU has its fan and temp always at 0 which is incorrect. Not sure what to do, extremely frustrating.
Toasted
ssayer Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and see if the Dongle is there. It should be in one the the categories. Don't use v1.X.X as it's really old and it will not detect any of the newer LINK devices. Use different 2.X.X versions. @creos7 Have you tried a mini USB B to Type A cable? Does it help? Ssayer
Ah, the dongle DOES show up! Guess I hadn't looked for that particular device in Device Manager before. Next, I suppose I'll dig around for different versions of Link v2 to try...
Ssayer
Okay, I've tried it with four different versions of Corsair Link v2, and get the same result for all. The dongle appears in the Device Manager, properly installed and labeled, and the fan speed and temperature sensors appear in the Link window, but they only report 0 instead of a valid value. *Sigh* I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that the Link line of products are far more trouble than they're worth... Toasted
Have you tried a different USB port? Have you tried reconnecting the LINK cable? The L.E.D. on the dongle, does it stay solid red? Ssayer
Have you tried a different USB port? Have you tried reconnecting the LINK cable? The L.E.D. on the dongle, does it stay solid red? Does it flashing green/red (Indicated activity) Yes, I've tried both internal USB 2.0 headers, and several external USB ports with the H100i Not entirely sure what you mean by this. Unplug it then reconnect it while the computer is running? Reconnect it to the Link Commander? Unplug it then reconnect it while the computer is off? No, it stays solid red, no activity whatsoever. Toasted
By reconnecting the LINK cable i mean the cable that connects to the COMM port on the PSU and the port on the USB dongle.
Corsair Employees Corsair Dustin Posted November 11, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 11, 2013 You may be running into a known bug. Try uninstalling Intel's USB 3.0 driver, that's what fixed it on my personal rig. I turned around and reported it here, so it's definitely something we're working on in house. Ssayer
Unfortunately, I've tried multiple installations with the 3.0 driver uninstalled.
