rma questions

rma

Recommended Posts

I have a rma request (Your RMA# is 6184834) and have a few questions before i send it of

I have asked twice to support but they send me double emails about replying in 1 business day but never do.

1. Do i have to send the brackets along with the ssd

1. Do i need original packaging as that is either thrown out or somewhere in the back garden.

3. Is my item still under warranty, i put my information in there but it didn't ask for serial code to confirm the item.

But here it says SSD's have 3 years

http://www.corsair.com/en/support/warranty/

Can you confirm this is still covered as i don't want to waste time sending if it isn't.

I believe it has just been over 3 years but im sure it had a lifetime warrenty when i bought it.

Part number CSSD-F120GB3-BK

SERIAL: 114401006 ********

3. If successfully tested and confirm there is a problem, will i get a brand new ssd or a used refurbished one?

4. will i be charge postage to receive the new one?

5. will there be warranty on the replacement drive.

I made my rma a few days back but as i havnt had any questions answered i have yet to send it off.

IT really bugs me that my ssd is freezing, giving bsod and at sluggish and unresponsive, but clean with malware bytes and comodo.

Hello there,

I have posted this information in your support ticket so that your TS specialist may answer any questions you may have in the meantime. Literally all of these questions are answered in the shipping instructions once the RMA is approved. I would refer to the RMA confirmation email.

Also, feel free to post questions in the ticket for a quicker response.

I have read over the instructions and cant find the answers and i have checked the ticket and waited and still no response from anyone.

Below is what it says on the RMA ticket.

now can you answer the questions above please.

I would like to know about the replacement drive and its cover along with sending brackets and if my drive is still covered under warranty if its been over 3 years.

___________

Carefully read and follow the Corsair Product Return Instructions below to ensure the returned package is accepted by Corsair. Poorly packaged, damaged packaging or insufficient package labeling may result in the returned package being refused and returned to the sender at the sender’s expense.

Package Labeling:

Your RMA# & Return address must be clearly marked on the outside of the returning package.

Print this page and use the top half (fold or cut at the bold black line) as the return address label by securely taping to the outside of the returning package.

Packaging Instructions:

DO NOT return any Corsair product in a standard mailing envelope.

Proper return packaging includes either a padded envelope sufficient to support the product size and weight or a standard shipping box with stuffing to minimize movement during transit.

Shipping Carrier:

The consumer is responsible for return freight costs to Corsair. We recommend shipping your product with a carrier who provides tracking and insurance options. Corsair is not liable for lost or stolen packages.

Corsair Replacement Comment:

Upon receipt, Corsair will verify that the contents of the package match with your original RMA Request and either process your replacement order or notify you of any receipt discrepancy which will affect your replacement order. Allow up to 48 hrs for this process.

Your replacement order will be shipped via UPS services.

rma, lemme see if I can shed some light on this for you.

1. Do i need original packaging as that is either thrown out or somewhere in the back garden.

I would send everything that originally came with the drive. You'll get new hardware with the replacement. But no, you don't need the original box, just package it good so it can't be damaged during shipping.

3. Is my item still under warranty, i put my information in there but it didn't ask for serial code to confirm the item.

When did you purchase the drive? If it's within the warranty period they will replace it. Generally they ask for a copy of your sales invoice to determine warranty eligibility.

3. If successfully tested and confirm there is a problem, will i get a brand new ssd or a used refurbished one?

Most of the time they are brand new drives. However they do have the right to ship refurbished drives if they choose. That is stated in the warranty policy found here.

http://www.corsair.com/us/support/warranty/

4. will i be charge postage to receive the new one?

You pay to ship the drive to Corsair. They will pay to ship the new drive back.

5. will there be warranty on the replacement drive.

What ever is the remainder of the warranty on your original drive. It will not start over. So if there is say, 6 months left on your warranty, the new drive will have just six months warranty. This is also another reason why they ask for sales receipts instead of the manufacturing date. It may not accurately reflect the true amount of the warranty period remaining.

EDIT: Just saw this...

I would like to know about the replacement drive and its cover along with sending brackets and if my drive is still covered under warranty if its been over 3 years

If the drive is over three years old, then no, they will not replace it.
