Increasing the range of v2000-Project

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has attempted to extend the range of the v2000 headset? where I live there are loads of wireless devices meaning the range of any is always poor, so I decided to open the USB stick and locate the antennas to see if I could improve the signal :D

What i need to know is, have the two circuit board antenna been made into there size, length and shape to get 2.4 GHz band as the highest band? Looking at the two antennas on the board they are different shapes which leaves me to believe they are just standard antennas as they cant both work at the same frequency with good results, as there pick-up band would be different

My thoughts are to make/buy a high gain 2.4 GHz antenna and solder it to the board and remove the exsiting antenna track or along those lines :D

If anyone has any advice that would be great! Thanks

Other then letting you know that the information your looking for wont be published anywhere and Corsair wont give out schematics or anything of that nature, there isn't much real information that i can add.. Basically your on your own with this. I believe you are the first.

And I'm quite sure you know you would be voiding any warranty you have left on them too!. :)

yeah i got another usb stick for this project, i got ichy fingers last night and just started, put on a 7DBi antenna to ext1 antenna, tho stupidly forgot to remove the track :D it has worked a bit already tho, the range is about 2feet better but as i said not done it correctly once i remove the old track im hoping it will work better, then the next part will be to see if using an SMA extension lead can help by having the stick upstairs with an antenna on a ceiling just below, or i may try a 2.4GHz signal booster but not sure if they would work or not cant wait to find out :D
