Link profiles loaded without link software running?

As in the title:

Are Link profiles loaded/working when Link software isn't loaded or must Link run for profiles to work?

I can't find that info in the manual (or i must be overlooking something)...

your last profile ran will stay regardless if the software is running or not...

run a load and compare

I have been trying to get this kind info from Corsair since I bought the Link. Either they don't know or they don't want you to know. It certainly isn't in the documentation and they have never answered my questions.

Your reply brings to mind another question though...Where is this profile running? Is some of the intelligence in the cooler, assuming you have an "i" series, and other running in the link box itself? Or is it running in the monitoring task. I suppose I could just run some tests but certainly someone must know the answer. Right now my Link and Cooler are just limping by so I can't run any tests.

Thanks for any knowledge about how this product works.

I'm hoping you are right. That's how I would have approached it. Any idea of who is controlling the case fans then? I'm hoping that one of these days Corsair will explain how all of this works together and what software needs to be running.

Case fans - I am referring to the fans that pull air into and out of the case itself, not those for cooling the CPU. I'm hoping that the profiles selected are running in the Cooling node so that no other monitoring software need be running in the PC. I'm also hoping that the PSU and GPU control their own profile.

The reasons I bring it up are twofold:

1. I'm seeing what appears to disk I/O for no obvious reason. I'm not doing any trending. If I didn't have an SSD as my main drive I wouldn't worry about it.

2. The ASUS AI Suite software and Corsair monitoring software don't seem to play nicely so I usually turn one or the other off, depending on what I need to see.

the fans thats connected to the block AND the cooling node will continue to work without the software running,,.aisuite may cause problems being installed even tho its turned off.,some have reported issues while others have not when using both together
