peanutz94
The XMP profile is supposed to be an easy one click method to overclocking your memory and really meant for stock Bclk's. But if your OC'ing the CPU , your better off manually setting them anyway. Really, getting 2300mhz out of a 2133mhz kit along with the high of a CPU OC is probably where your CPU hits the wall and wont go any further. You really cant ask for much better than that. You can safely take the memory up to 1.65v if need be, but i wouldn't go any further than that. And you can loosen your CPU oc to give your memory a bit more room to breath.Thats about all I can suggest.
musicheadztv
1.65 volt you say . what do i have to change on the mobo to give the memory controller more power . i remember having to do something like that on my x58. and 2300 seems to be the wall i hit . my next option up is 2500 on the memory multiplier. sry if i dont know what that called im abit rusty . do u think i can get to 2500 mhz or is that to much . i get the feeling that i would need 1.65 volts for this. also is it better to have faster ram or a faster cpu ? peanutz94
Basically there is no way to tell how much more you'll get out of them. Personally I think your doing pretty good as it is. But yes, you can go t0 1.65v Thats if you want to stay within Intels limits. If not the modules are good up to 2.0v. also is it better to have faster ram or a faster cpu ? Hands down, faster CPU. Anything above2133mhz isn't going to be noticeable in real world applications and benchmarks are just that....a number. As far as should you take it further, welll thats for you to decide. But again, I think your hitting great clocks. I found this article that suggests your in a 30% bracket for the Haswell CPU's and how well they overclock. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/06/01/intel_haswell_i74770k_ipc_overclocking_review/6#.UmxLIhDt77c
