H110 + Carbide Air 540 - too loud!

Hello.

I recently purchased Corsair H110 AIO LC and Corsair Carbide Air 540 case... both looks great and I am happy  but the Corsair H110 stock fans, mounted on the top exhaust (push) are too loud! and if I mount it in the front intake (pull), it is even louder! :[pouts: should I change the stock fans?

Also btw, the case window has a scratch, close to the top-right corner (~2 inch by ~1mm scratch, thick white line, visible in light :sigh!:) any aftermarket scratch remover I can use to remove it?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the fans, Sure you can try different ones and see if it makes any difference. What kind of sound are they making? Any chance you could post a video?

As far as the scratch is concerned, you can submit an RMA request using the link on the left and they can replace that panel for you.

are you controlling thee fans or running full speed?

you can get a scratch removing compound at most any hardware or auto store

Full speed, getting ~1500 RPM. Any particular scratch remover you can recommend?

It just sounds loud, like a big engine running. But now I am thinking the issue is with the Case and not the H110. Any high RPM fans I put in, front intake or top exhaust, it makes loud noise. I tried to put in some Thermaltake Thunderblade fans from my old case... those sounded like jet engines, totally unbearable for me so had to take them off, but those same fans runs totally silent in my old case.

I am thinking of changing the stock H110 fans with those low RPM Corsair AF140 fans... but worried about performance hit :sigh!:

I don't think Corsair offers direct RMA service in my region. And I don't think the retailer would offer me an exchange for a minor issue (to them)... hence I am looking for an aftermarket scratch remover. Just don't know which brand and type to get.

They most certainly do. They will ship world wide. I would go ahead and request a new panel.

most any type will work for you but theres 2 kinds of scratches

one with foreign material on your case and the other is material missing from your case

the second cant be removed

you can find out by sliding your fingernail across the scratch,if you feel it ,it cant be removed...

you can get a fan controller that will keep the noise down till you need the rpm for cooling...

Thanks for the info . It turns out my Retailer is listed under Corsair, here: http://www.corsair.com/wheretobuy/

Okay, but who pays for the shipping? I mean if I pay for sending the old panel to Corsair RMA dept. and receiving the new panel, it would cost me more than the case itself.

Sadly I CAN feel it :[pouts:. The scratch is on the inner side of the case btw. So what should I do... shall I request for a new panel?

you just need to decide if the scratch is worth the hassle of rma'n,you pay to ship to corsair, they pay to ship new one to you.

I just want a scratch-free window.

This is my first Corsair case and cooler and I am very excited about them but I must say I am very disappointed about the noise and the scratch. Previously I used only Zalman and Thermaltake products and I never complained about them.

I will decide within a few days if I want an RMA. I am guessing the shipping charge will be atleast $50 from here.

Sorry , Wytnyt was wrong about the RMA information. You wouldn't need to ship the defective panel back. They don't require them to be returned. They will just ship you a new one. And since the case is less than 30 days old Corsair would pick up the shipping charges anyway.

You don't have anything to lose and scratch free panel to gain!:D:

Sure thing! Let us know how you make out.

Just got this from RMA dept:

Hello,

Replacements have been issued and will be shipping out within 1-2 business days. You have been waived from having to send back the defective unit this time. Please do not send anything back.

Regards,

RMA Service

Happy!
