Link and Windows 8.1

I'm sorry, but I expect much better from an enthusiast company.

Windows 8.1 is not new, it has been available for months now, partly so that companies, such as yours, are able to update their software in time for the public release. Yes, it has been changing in this time, but surely you could have prepared the ground?

Corsair is the sole reason I cannot now upgrade without significant hassle working around the issue. As I wrote above, I expect much more from a company that deals with enthusiast PC builders.

Driver and software support is something I keenly consider when buying new products. Given a choice between AMD and Nvidia, I choose Nvidia. Asus when I choose between Creative and Asus. The amount of time it will take you to get this ready means I will almost certainly be looking towards your rivals when the time comes to change my cooling solution.

there are others product options available but none that does what Corsairs does, and no 8.1 has not been available for months

one pertinent question to ponder:

even microsoft admits win 8 is messed up hense the free upgrade

if microsoft cant get their act together, with win8 and now a 8.1 which is nothing more than saying''oops,win8 is messed up so heres 8.1,then how can one honestly expect corsair to fix things?

8.1 was first released to the public on June 26. I'm assuming that it was available in the industry before this.

I'm not going to answer your points on other products "not doing what Corsairs does" or that "win 8 is messed up" because they're both personal opinions to which you're entitled, but that I happen to disagree with. I wrote a personal opinion on my feelings when I heard I would have to wait 4-6 weeks for a Corsair update. Of course, you're welcome to disagree.

I would point out that the issue of incompatibility with 8.1 has been raised on the forums for some time now. It was a situation I was willing to accept in 8.1's beta period. In my opinion now 8.1 has hit public, the situation is no longer acceptable. I paid a premium for a high end product, and I didn't expect this level of service when I did.

Complaining is not something I take lightly, but I wrote an honest personal opinion of my reaction to the announcement of the developer.

This 8.1 thread also started on 27/6.

as i thought, its a PREVIEW release which is a taste of something YET to come

it isnt an official software release so its absurd to expect a company to dedicate resources on a undeveloped product.

this is akin to microsoft projecting a preview of an expected release in 2025 of what they promise to have available and expect corsair to begin working on it today

the 8.1 thread you posted is yet another example of mis-information and error

Urgh, this is the reason I dislike forums. Why on earth have you taken it upon yourself to become a self-appointed Corsair rep?

Yes it's a preview release, as you'll actually find I alluded to earlier. Congratulations. But please ask yourself, why was 8.1 made available so early? Partly so that Msoft can iron out bugs and also, as the MSDN releases show, so that companies can prepare and update their software in preparation for full release. Your assertion that it is "absurd" that a company devote resources to an undeveloped project will I'm sure come as a surprise to MSI, Nvidia, Intel and Creative who took the opportunity the preview provided to update their software (and they're only the ones I have personal experience of).

Now the reason I started the post with an "urgh" was mainly in relation to:

"this is akin to microsoft projecting a preview of an expected release in 2025 of what they promise to have available and expect corsair to begin working on it today"

No. No, it really isn't akin to that at all. To be honest, your example is so utterly bizarre and seemingly unrelated to my post, that I am at a loss how to respond! All you've done is stretch the time line, and ask me whether I expect Corsair to code a decade in advance. I really struggle to comprehend the relevance. If it takes 4-6 weeks to update Corsair Link, should they not have taken the opportunity of the 8.1 beta, or preview, to do that? I didn't even ask that they have something ready during the preview, but instead, that they started development in time for a software update at the time of 8.1 going live.

Now just stop! I don't wish to trade opinions. I wished to display my own personal dissatisfaction with Corsair's support. If you are unable to allow somebody to hold a different opinion to your own, I would request you to grow up.

And with that, I'll leave you to your forum

Kind of like what's been happening the last couple of years with Corsair Link? How ironic.

You have every right peitheif. Don't listen to his trolling fanboy comments as he goes around this forum daily and blames users for their mistake on a botched product. He gives excuses most of the time. Anyhow, I am still waiting 2+ years for a $150+ fan controller (Bought it on release) to perform as advertised.
