sblantipodi
Hi, I'm using a Force GT 240GB. Is it recommended to "create overprovisioning" with SSD Toolbox? What overprovisionig is exactly and why it is important? Can you elaborate in detail please? Is 6GB enough for overprovisioning? Suppose that I create an overprovision of 6GB, if I format the drive, does this "overprovision" remain or should I redo the process? Thanks. red454
Good info here: http://www.edn.com/design/systems-design/4404566/Understanding-SSD-over-provisioning Any time you format, reformat, or fool with your partitioning - I believe you will have to set up the overprovision space through the toolbox. Yellowbeard
A Force GT 240GB SSD already has 7% OP and does not need additional OP. CORSAIR OP BLOG
G50EED
What about the Force GT 480?
Yellowbeard
480 also already has 7% OP, no need to add more. This is why it's a 480GB SSD and not a 512GB. Same applies to other densities as well 120/128 etc.
