DoesMySSD
Hi, is the data written to these SSDs encrypted or left as plain Hex-data? I know I can use encryption software for the full disk, but just asking first in case it is possible to use the built in encryption (if any) with my own passwords. Administrators Technobeard Posted October 18, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 18, 2013 None of our SSDs have built in encryption.
DoesMySSD
Thanks, SanDisk SSDs apparently encrypt all stuff to the drive. I just read this http://forums.sandisk.com/t5/SanDisk-Ultra-Plus-SSD/SDSSDHP256G-does-this-have-encryption-like-Cruzers/td-p/301627# ...and was instantly alarmed that maybe all SSD manufacturers stored the data in encrypted format for some reason. If so, then surely the end user should also have access to that pass-key. So let me ask the question in a slightly different form, is my GTX storing the data in a plain and readable format? Or is the Firmware encrypting it? Thanks
