andyhz
When I first got it setup in April, not talking prime 95 here. temperature was terrible. i have no OC, but runs turbo @ 3.9GHz. playing borderlands 2 my 3770k was at max 68 degrees., idle ~35 about last week, the temperature has increased to 78 degree. Today, I replaced the pre-applied tim to arctic cooling mx-4. i got the temperature down close to previous level, max @ 70 degree for borderlands 2. Now playing bioshock infinite @ 73 degree. idle is cooler @ 33 I can say the pump is working @ 2196, fans ok. Now I am thinking, maybe I applied too little tim for the dot method. Or the 3770k internal tim is garbage on this chip i have. update: Ambient is about 19 to 21 degree is it suppose to be one tube warm, one tube cold on h100i? my mobo is msi mpower z77
JKeifer
I think you hit the nail on the head. Also, a possibility would be that the original installation was borderline and the physical cooler-to-processor interface got disturbed for whatever reason and it "cracked" the TIM interface.
