cmolken
I got a Corsair H80 from Microcenter when I built an i7-3930k system. I recently put the corsair fans back in and wow I must say they are loud and are constantly revving up and down. What fan should I replace this with? My Scythe fans weren't cutting it letting the i7 reach 80 degrees Celsius. I got the unit in 2011 so I am guessing this would not be covered under warranty. pk7677
After doing some research I got the Noctua NF-F12 120mm fans for my H100.
cmolken
Okay thanks. I wish microcenter had more then 1 in stock. I was looking at the corsair sp120 non pwm would those work good and not cause too much noise? These fans are utterly annoying me right now, but it's keeping the cpu cool. peanutz94
The standard SP120's will not be controllable by the h80.
cmolken
I would be fine with no control as long as they dont surge and make as much noise as the fans that came with the h80. Not sure why it was packaged with 3 pin fans and not pwm fans since it has the connectors for it.
cmolken
All set now after taking it apart found there was a pretty bad build up of cat hair clogging up the radiator. Went back to my scythe fans which are nice and quiet and running cool.
