K70 (Cherry MX Blue) 'spongy' keys

Hi.

I just picked up a K70 yesterday. I previously had a Blackwidow Ultimate (also Cherry MX Blue).

Most of the keys on the K70 feel very spongy and provide little or no tactile feedback as the Blue keys are supposed to. The keys on the left side of the keyboard are better, but once you get past the cde column of keys things just feel spongy. Do I need to type on this for a few week to 'loosen' anything? I can't remember how things were when I got my BW keyboard 2 years ago. All I know is that these keys do not feel like Cherry Blues and it's throwing me off :(

I exchanged my keyboard at the store for a new one and the problem persists. Either I've gotten keyboards from a bad production run or the keyboard is built such that the 'bump' you normally get from Cherry Blues is greatly lacking.

The weird thing is that some keys feel fine while others lack the bump. It's throwing off my typing as I'm used to feeling the bump from my previous keyboard and my work keyboard (CoolerMaster QFR).

Does anyone know if Corsair has any kind of 'satisfaction guarantee' or am I just out $120? :(

You can request an RMA to replace the keyboard via Corsair. You can also contact customer service via phone, explain your issue and ask about shipping as its under 30 days old. It's possible the seller may have some bad units if some keys are working normal.

After getting them to exchange it, I was told in no uncertain terms that I would have to contact Corsair for any more issues.

Oh well, that's a $120 lesson on my end.

Hello Fishy007,

Please submit a RMA and we will be able to replace this unit for you. If you like, we can have the replacement sent to our HQ location to have it tested before sending it out to you. Once you have submitted a RMA, post your ticket number here.
