r-federer
I'm new to this forum and a newbie in overclocking. I have just set up a PC with the Asus maximus hero vi LGA1150 mobo with an i5-4670k cpu. Also got the h100i as the cooler. I overclocked the cpu to 4.4ghz at 1.2v. performance is stable so I checked the temps using RealTemp. wow it showed 99 degrees at full load. hence, I did a search on the corsair forums and results showed that the backplate may be wrongly fitted. re-seated the heat sink 3 times and now I think the h100i is installed proper. So my qns is, my idle temp at load 1-2% hovers around 36-38 degrees (previous 45-48 with the backplate issue), while at full load running prime95 for 15mins doesn't exceed 72 degrees. ambient temp is around 27 degrees. Am I finally getting the H100i installed correctly with these results?
wytnyt
looks good to me idle temps arent that important as even a few load % will fluctuate it,,your load temps are also good---play on !
r-federer
thanks. one more question, i'm using the 600T as my case, should I use the fan connector on the case or connect to the heat sink for corsair link? meaning I can control the front and back case fans with the fan controller, which isn't very responsive. i'm currently only using the stock fans from the h100i to connect the heat sink. wytnyt
most case fans are 3 pin and the cooler requires 4 pin pwm fans, while corsair only guarantees their fans to work, there are some other 4 pin pwn fans that will also work...
