Fourth broken headset in two years, can I get a refund?

Recommended Posts

Hi there. I have been using Corsair Headsets for the last couple years, and no one pair has lasted more than 9 months. I have had a Corsair HS1A, and three Corsair 1300, in the last two years.

Every single one of them has failed by having a break in the cable between the ear cup and the volume module, or within the volume module itself.

The latest has started failing over the weekend. The left ear cup got really quiet, and when I wiggled the volume wheel back and forth it would cut in and out. It was sent to me last May, as a replacement for the same problem in a previous set, which was itself a replacement.

Four times over in the space of one two year warranty period. I do not want another replacement, I do not want this headset anymore, but I can't just throw away an 80$ investment.

I know its extreme circumstance, and I have made use of the product during the 6-8months each one has lasted, but I am not happy with my purchase choice at all. If possible, how would I go about getting a refund? Or am I just SOL?

@RAM GUY, You have helped me in the past with replacing RAM, and I remember you helped move my ticket along the second time my headset broke. Is there anything you can do for me here?

EDIT: Just for clarification, no I have not been abusive to my headsets, I always make sure to not roll my chair over the cord, and I have never thrown/slammed them down, or anything of that nature.

Speranza i'm not sure there is anything they can do after two years.

If you purchased your headset directly from the Corsair webstore, there may be a chance. But you would need to discuss this with CS. If you purchased it elsewhere , then I'm sorry they can not refund money on a purchase not made directly from them.

Hey peanut, thanks for your response. My original purchase was on Amazon, and two of the replacement headsets came through the old support system so I have no record of it.

I didn't really expect a refund when I posted last night, but you can't get what you don't ask for. I'm just tired of the same generic "sorry, here's a refurb". I don't know what is with my bad luck because I have plenty of other corsair products with zero issues, and the headsets themselves are decent enough, but they all broke/break in the cord/volume module.

Hello Speranza,

I am sorry that the 1300 headset is causing you trouble. I would be happy to help meet some compromise and make sure you have a working product in hand.

I was able to find your support account in our system. I will go ahead and create a support ticket for you so that we can communicate from there.

Please refer to your email and I will talk to you soon.
