blackops
I heard recently that the front usb 3.0 now attaches to motherboard and not rear i/o. Can anyone confirm this?
Toasted
Unless the I/O was updated recently. No, it's still a pass-through to the rear USB ports. The alternative was to buy a adapter that changes the full-sized USB ports to an internal 3.0 header. E.g. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=17887 Do you have a source that says it now attaches to the internal header? My source tells me he assumed it would be a motherboard connector since he could not believe a company like Corsair would not have fixed this MAJOR issue. Buying an adapter just adds to the price and is the responsibility of the maker to supply this part.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 7, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 7, 2013 The connector is still a pass through connector.
PandaZ3
For those in the US there is a Cable adapter at Newegg I just ordered one. Very classy Corsair! Really professional! I'm impressed also with the instructions for the H100i, if you do it as instructed your case will be cool as you can't get your motherboard in. That keeps everything cool. I have had $40 InWin cases better designed. Ah but it looks good and is a Modders dream, I'm just not a Modder.
blackops
The connector is still a pass through connector. Why is it still pass through? I really love this case but this lets it down badly. This is not professional.
PandaZ3
I hate to eat a little crow as the feathers taste bad. Since posting my own comment I discovered that the 600T was designed and put into production before the USB 3.0 pin connectors standards were set, so Corsair did develop this work around. If I were betting, Corsair probably is developing a successor to the 600T that would have two or more USB 3.0 on the front panel and generally making improvements. I have ordered the USB 3.0 extension dongle that I found at Newegg and I'll use that. I think I'll have to complain to ASRock about only having two USB 2.0 headers on their board.
