H100i low RPM pump noise !!

hey i'm from egypt, i bought this H100i at a local retail store last month the problem with it is majority of time on cold boot the pump RPM is quit low @ 700 ~ 800 RPM and when this happens the pump makes a loud crunching noise but sometimes after a few restarts the pump RPM becomes 2000 ~ 2200 and the noise is all gone ....

it's not fan noise it's the pump as i've double checked without the fans even connected at all ....

this is totally random sometimes it just works @ 2200 RPM which is silent but other majority of time it runs 700 RPM and make crunching sounds !!

is there a fix for this ? what controls the pump RPM ?

is RMA my only way ? i'm afraid that retail store will not return it and will give me a headache trying to get a replacement .... i'm on 1.07 firmware

i have seen other people having the exact same issue as mine ....

please advise !!

your only recourse is to rma it,theres a couple here i know that does the same thing and while pump rpm is low at startup, has had no other problem running like this for a while now

it's not low at start up only...

it stays low for ever till i restart a couple of times only then in picks full speed ...

the unit i bought have 1 year local warranty, but what if the retail shop didn't want to rma and said it was "normal" or give me this kind of crap talk :[pouts:

also my power supply is seasonic x series gold 1250w if it helps to know

it shouldnt run low after it boots,if its still under warranty, try going thru your retailer which is usually faster,if thats not feasible then fill out a rma thru corsair.you can also get an advanced rma but you would need to call to set that up...

RMA it directly through Corsair. Use the LINK on the left to get started and you can ask for an advanced replacement as well. This way you'll get a new unit before you have to send the old back.

i called the retailer i got it from he said it will take maybe 10 days till i get it "fixed" or get a new one ....

They don't fix them, just replace them.

The pump always works with about 2200 to 2300 rpm, if it goes to 700 and so, then you have a problem with your psu or the pump fails to keep its rpm.

Mine H100i always sits at a 2337 as rpm and is silent.

You could only attach the H100i to your psu and start the psu with a wire at the 24 pin, green to any black wire, and start it a few times and let it running for a half hour.

If stays silent every time, then you can look at psu if its faulty when the hole system is working, with aida you can see if the 12v, +5 and +3.3 volt lines are stable.

I am sorry but this is incorrect. If it was an issue with the PSU other system components would suffer from lack of voltage too and the system would be unstable. .

Plain and simple it's in the cooler , not the PSU

Further more the pumps spec is 2200rpm +/- 10% so that could be anywhere from 2000-2400rpm. so even if it's low or high, again, doesn't mean it's a PSU issue even if the voltage coming from the PSU fluctuates some.

i have a seasonic 1250w gold psu

and everything else in the system is running fine except the pump doing 1150 rpm only and making noise , sometimes after a few restarts it kicks back to 2200 and it becomes silent , i'm gonna try RMA it locally first ....

i will try to rma locally first @ monday, let's see if it will go smoothly ....
