justinz
Hi all, I've recently been having problems with my Corsair Force GT. When starting the computer there's pretty much a 50/50 chance that the SSD is recognized in My Computer. When it does work, it stays shown in My Computer for a few minutes or so and then disappears. When it was working, I formatted it and it stayed connected overnight. After seeing that it had stayed connected overnight, I began to put files onto it and shortly after (about an hour or so) the drive had disappeared again. The drive does not show up in Disk Management or the BIOS when it is unrecognized. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Thanks in advance. Toasted
Have you tried a different SATA data and power plug cable?
justinz
Thank you for the response, Toasted. I swapped the two cables connecting the SSD to the motherboard to the spares that came with the computer. Upon boot up, I checked the BIOS to see if it was recognized, which it was (a good sign). When I finally got into Windows, the drive indeed was connected, however instead of being named just the "E:" drive, it was renamed "New Volume (E:)," so I figure that it got reset somehow during the unplugging of the cables. The files that were on the SSD remain just as they were before. 6 minutes later, I lose the SSD again from My Computer and Device Manager. Back to square one, I guess. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.
Toasted
Request an RMA to replace the drive. It seems like the connections on the SSD are bad.
Administrators Technobeard Posted October 1, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 1, 2013 If the drive also disappeared from the BIOS, I'd suggest we replace it. Please create a ticket at http://corsair.force.com
justinz
Thanks for the help. I've filled out a ticket that got approved yesterday and just sent out the SSD to Corsair's RMA dept. this morning. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the quick responses and help here and will definitely be buying from Corsair again and would definitely recommend. 10/
