JohnO356
I cleaned the inside of the case a few days ago and started wondering about putting a filter on the outside top of the case (the H110 radiator seemed to be getting pretty dusty). I laid 2 sheets of dryer cloth over the intake holes and noticed the fan speed dropped about 30-35 RPM. Nothing significant and temps are great, but I'm wondering why a filter would slow the fans? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 25, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 25, 2013 Because it creates a restriction of the air flow and is not uncommon.
JohnO356
Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing it's safe to do??
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 25, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 25, 2013 Yes should not be a problem, but I would use or look for some Filter Material.
peanutz94
Regular computer filters are made from a much more coarse material that still traps dust but isn't restrictive. Check out a company called Demci flex. They make filters for most cases and if not they will even make custom sizes for pretty reasonable prices. http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l3/g47/c223/s1024/list/p1/Fan_Accessories-Fan_Filters-DEMCi_Flex_Fan_Filters-Page1.html

JohnO356
Couldn't find a retailer who sold just the top filter, but had noticed on the Demcifilter website that they sold the top filter separately for $12.98 or so. I went ahead and ordered it from them, and now have an estimated wait of 3 weeks. BTW, shipping (mail) was another $12 plus . Might have been better off buying the whole set from a U.S retailer for $60, lol.
