h100i: should the pump be completely silent?

Been running my h100i for a few days now, had to install the original fans instead of the SP120's I bought because these only had 3 pins (bummer) and I have not enough fan-slots on my mainboard to control them (only supports 3). Anyway, I noticed that my h100i pump is putting out a noticeable purrr-like noise. It's not really loud but it can be heard when fans running at lower speeds. I already installed the latest firmware for the h100i.

I was just wondering, is it normal for the pump to have an audible noise? Or should it be completely silent?

They will not be completely silent and if its new it will likely quiet down with time. And on the fans start an RMA and post the case number I will see if we can replace them with some PWM Fans so you can use them on the cooler.

I appreciate this, but do I have to pay for shipping costs to the US? Or can I send them somewhere in the EU? I'm asking this because shipping them to the US to get replaced would cost me about 21 euro, where a new double pack costs 25 euro...

Are your original h100i fans 4 pin?

If they are 3 pin and if it's still as it was you don't need to ship anything, you can keep does fans.

The h100i does not work very well with 3 pin SP120's you need the new 4 pin SP120's (PWM) and for those you need, I think, to send them back.

I think they have a depot in the Netherlands

I noticed my H100i was fairly quiet when I got it. I've had it now 4 months and even if the fans were off, I'd have to be really close to the case and listen close before noticing my pump running. They are all going to be different. Also, as for you fans, you can search out on the internet for either fan PWM splitters, reduce from 4 to 3 pin, or vice versa. Usually they are fairly inexpensive too. It could help remedy the issue with wiring on fans.

snfo: my original (included) fans are 4 pin, the SP120's I have are 3 pin. I also tried connecting the SP120's using the included (voltage?) adaptors. It seems fan speeds can be controlled this way for the SP120's, but they react very slowly. Like I said, I think shipping them to Corsair (if in US) will cost me the same as buying new ones.

I also need to add that the noise the pump is making is the same when using either the included fans, the SP120's or no fans at all. It's not that LOUD but the pitch of the noise makes it easily audible over slow spinning fans
